‼️ This week, the US House of Representatives passed the KIDS Act. If it passes the Senate, it will be the end of the open Internet. Platforms will be forced to implement age verification. You will have to upload your government ID to post on social media. The goal is to fully track every internet user and to implement global KYC regulation for free speech. It was never about the kids. It’s about governments having full control over what you do and say on the Internet. Posted something bad about your government 5 years ago? Liked a post criticizing the regime? Retweeted a post against the official narrative? Watch how protecting the kids becomes fighting terrorism or hate speech pretty soon. You will be found and you will be prosecuted. There is no free speech in this world without a free Internet. The Internet must remain open for anyone, with or without government identification. You have a human right for privacy and for free speech. This is a coordinated attack. Age verification laws are being proposed all over the planet, everywhere at the same time. We must fight back.

I love how @Sam Bent points out this is even worse than Nazi Germany demanding ‘ze papers.’ Then they would give you your papers back, but now in this digital age, your ID is CONFISCATED; stored on their servers permanently & can be easily used to draw connections of you across platforms. image View quoted note →
I am to fix digital id, by doing it decentralised and with zero knowledge proofs, with a reputation mechanism. And cases like this would be impossible or need deep technical prowess. Users store and own their data encrypted on their own terms. Please support the initiative: First prototype is ready: All open source free software. And then we go for adoption in society, apps and government.

"The goal is to fully track every internet user and to implement global KYC regulation for free speech." No. The goal is to install #DigitalIdentity gates barring every desirable physical and digital place in order to eject from society politically inconvenient people and extend the reach of highly conforming NPCS. Social credit effectively replaces the justice system with #AI training controlled by the ruling class. It makes the land an open air prison for some, and an amusement park for others. #RulesForReset View quoted note →

everything arises out of necessity. what we want is not always right. our internet has failed the youth. look at the addiction. this solution hurts but i sort of agree. but yes we will persist and make new spaces to enjoy freely
How? I know people who seemed to give a shit about an free adn honest world, but they have kids and are super pleased with this bs. Even after I try to explain and show the meme. One side of the ocean has a second amendment to protect the first, right? Does or will it work? The other side of the ocean can go and throw shit in front of the step of government. Will it matter a cent? Read this here on nostr and feel its tone ringing in my head when ready to go out and warn people about the shit coming. I ask how? (Yes nostr and btc, but how?) The masses want a dictatorship. Maybe not named like that. They want safe and the state seems to be able to offer that for them. Planet earth's just a speck and for who believes in more, call it God or whatever. All is One (Neo ;)) https://mises.org/mises-daily/isaiahs-job
Children are never an excuse for the government to regulate adults. Adults must regulate their own children, not the government regulate children. Once the government has control over children, they are no longer your children, they are slaves-in-training.
This is a timed orchestrated lockstep agenda implementation, of the UN’s agenda 2030. All 193 member nation states are implementing it. Each with its own flavor and nuance. Freedom exists only if we keep developing it, protecting it and using it.
Das tun sie gerade in Erfurt. Oder glauben es zumindest. Oder behaupten es jedenfalls. Wo das Hirn vernebelt ist und die Augen verblendet, geht halt alles in die falsche Richtung. Wie sagt man es ihnen?
The House of Representing Themselves. Is only doing what was asked of them. To come up with a solution to prevent toxicity from the internet from infecting the minds of children. Can’t help it if they do that in a way that benefits the already established power players. Government is like an evil genie; be careful what you wish for you just might get it. The real solution do not outsource your responsibilities, in this case to keep your own children safe. View quoted note →

Yeah, we’re literally in Bolshevik Revolution 2.0…that’s when satanist Jews took over Russia and killed millions of people. Humanity has chosen to learn the hard way because most people don’t care about truth and they aren’t curious, so they never question their beliefs. They’re still voting, they don’t even realize the politicians are easily bought or blackmailed. They’ve rendered themselves retarded, they’re programmed. Until humanity realizes they are empowering satanists because they are participating in their matrix of lies, darkness will win. This is a spiritual war. Truth verses lies. Light verses darkness.

Normies don’t care. They will comply with the status quo. Easier to comply then to resist.
Y'all elected a Zionist pedophile to be president and you didn't see this coming as a result? "Your government is run by pedophiles, they're sending you to die for Israel" Do you not understand what that means?

People do what is easy so we must change the incentives such that freedom is easier than slavery. Right now slavery is the easier choice. These sorts of changes take time and are not brought about by waking up the masses no matter how articulate or passionate we may be. It’s a process of slowly building and improving the freedom tech and liberty ecosystem that one day the Normies will simply adopt because it’s the easiest way to live
These politicians have been caught in emails speaking to each other about raping killing and eating children. The actual reason they're removing freedom of speech is to stop us critising them for their crimes against children
USA already has more prisons than the rest of the world combined and they added like 40% more new mega prisons for mass enslavement after trumps last term. It's the same reason that migrants are being labelled as illegal. The USA constitution states that slavery can be used as punishment for any "crime" Crime being anything the government says is a crime. It's like the 13th amendment. It's like 90% of USA manufacturing, 50% of USA's food production involves prison slave labour, all kinds of industries in USA would totally collapse without industrial slave labour and prison farms.
Not true. Yes around 10,000 have been arrested and that's not cool but also not jailed. Also, that suggests this all happened in the last 2 years, again not true. Since 2023 (Starmer came in in 2024) United Kingdom – 2023 1,119 (out of 12,183 arrests). Starmer is a cunt and was Director of Public prosecutions etc. but don't believe everything you see on X.
Will it though? People don’t seem to care. Imagine if Nostr caught on fire like centrailized platforms.
There will always be sheep that say “govern me harder Daddy”. This would spark some of the non-sheep that just needed a little push imo.
This only strengthens the hands of the powers that be who wish to control, conquer and divide for personal gain. I imagine the people passing this act may or may not know this. I think the people passing acts like this just do not realize the extent to which data is being gobbled up by technocratic-like entities for reasons they cannot even fathom. It's up to us to say NO. It's up to us to OPT OUT. It's up to us to be RESPONSIBLE for how we use the internet and how we act as role models for the youth. It's up to US.
Most of X is proven to be bots, but people keep quoting the nonsense they see over there on here. They can't even recognize obvious parodies, they're so eager to believe the nonsense.
@calle the government ID to post part is the real tell, they want identity welded to speech itself. does the way out end up being tools that make you unidentifiable by default, ecash and nostr keys instead of accounts, or does the law just come for the tools next? where do you put your energy?
Nostr is not a threat to them. They try to control public opinion and nostr has like zero reach it doesn't even register.
I had FB a long long time ago, when it wasn't open to the public yet. I kept that account open but barely used it. At some point I got a message from FB saying I had to 1) use my real name and 2) provide my ID to prove it. I didn't do any of those. I figured they'd close my account but they never did. I ended up closing it myself a few years later. Also, I had Nextdoor for a while. My account got suspended for not using my real name nor provided my ID. A lot of people still actively use both networks. And Meta owns IG, so I figure you gotta provide an ID for it too.
that's so interesting. I think many of us got into nostr for exactly that reason - that it will bring more people to bitcoin
Nah... they know better than to actually pursue individuals who will fight in court. They just pressure companies who don't want to spend any more than they have to. If there's no company, there's no enforcement because enforcement is too costly this way (distributed and exponential, the more individuals you charge, the harder it is to prosecute all of them in the same fixed number of days and courts) They might charge one person with his head stuck up higher than the rest, and then the supreme court would slap this down and then they couldn't pressure the companies with costly lawsuits.
Its clear that after the pandemic they realized certain points had to ve addressed for full control. This is one item they have on the list.
To be fair, almost no one is actually anonymous on most platforms anyway, even if they try. The government can identify most people even if the company doesn't. This only makes it more explicit and forces the company to store that data as well. It's not good, but it's not like they're "suddenly" taking our privacy away. It's been gone for many years already.

We didn’t fail, their parents did. Had they treated their mobile devices with the same scrutiny applied to their home PC, we wouldn’t be having this conversation . I hear a lot of people thinking Nostr is the fix and that’s no even close to correct. The social media aspect of Nostr is completely different from what these kids are used to and if you think they are just going to jump on board because there is no other alternative, you would be mistaken…

i agree with part but who failed the parents.. ? society itself is a failure because it takes cooperation to succeed. the tool isn't the problem. it is the mindset. all tools can be abused. in text this is a rushed response. i like conversations. none of these problems are easily solved but eaily prevented. however we really lose if the next generation of people cannot continue with what we built i want to get you opinion on access vs responsibility. can a person really be expected not to entertain themselves if everything else around them is boring. access is a problem too

If they don’t comply, they don’t get to use those services anymore, nothing to do with being a “normie” or not caring to resist. The only people coming here will be the tech savvy, taking away their traditional platforms isn’t going to push them here, they have had years and have already made up their minds about the Nostr protocol.

Parents have had twenty years, they failed so now the government will step in to fix the mess. As far as who is being regulated, think of it like going to a night club and having to show your ID, they are not trying to regulate the adults, they are keeping out the minors. I can see how your view would get twisted if you’ve been sitting in an echo chamber but that’s one of the reason why this is needed.

They have had years to come here, removing the alternative isn’t going to raise the appeal for them. Besides, they would have to convince every one of their follows and followers to do the same and that certainly isn’t going to happen overnight. So, no, Nostr is not the easy fix people seem to think it is..

When smaller countries create toxic privacy laws, it pushes people toward VPNs. If the US does creates toxic privacy laws, we also lose a majority of the important VPN destinations. We're on a bad, bad trajectory.

Parents were supposed to monitor what their kids had access to and up until around 2006, they could, but once devices with full HTML capabilities came along parents needed a new method(using parental controls)to monitor what their kids were doing. The problem was, kids are entitled and think the open internet is a right, it’s not, it’s a privilege. So they start screaming at their parents about privacy and the parents give them their way because they don’t want to listen to it.

screens have always 'baby sat' kids though. parents are overworked and have little time to raise a family 'correctly'. it really hurts to see. the devalue of work / money is the culprit imo restore the value of work with bitcoin and we can all raise normal families again. i believe it all comes back around. correct the interent is not really a right. it is just access to 'things' the interent makes things easier to reach yet it itself has been used mostly for pleasure

Y'all are so focused on what their doing you aren't gathering evidence to file against them and take back your own power to where these laws no longer are effective on humanity. This is what my work is truly about to start seeing and gathering evidence of the wrongs against us. Something built on truth.
Basically it is, big tech would suddenly discover the value of privacy if people stop using their surveillance shit. But yea, people are retarded.

I can only assume you don’t use any of the traditional platforms and/or have nothing invested that would keep you there, otherwise you would understand why it’s easy to say but not easy to do…🤦🏻‍♂️
That's exactly it. The truth is in this pretty text, no need to say more, that's why we are here #Nostr
We humans are lacy and happily trade convenience for information, because we can also not imagine anybody doing something bad with it, until it happens to ourselves. When it's others, we still consent. We all seem to have a lacy, spineless fashist in our nature. We also tend to analyze only one shell and don't go deeper or we would not blaim the state for it, but the big profiteers of such a surveiling law - the corporations who make politics and sell surveilance and AI, the military being their first customers or maybe even drivers of them like many silicon valley firms. So it is absolutely normal, that people stand up in the last 5 minutes (or too late) for their right of privacy. And the people of the US seem to be most capable with living in cognitive dissonance - it's second nature to read the independence letter on 4th july and not notice that what they accused the english king then, they all let their own governement do, right now, under their own king or caspar trump di dump. And instead of correcting it, abolishing a two party system, reform the voting system like ALL THE REST OF THE CIVILIZED WORLD they blame 'the government', as if they were forced to remain passive. As if the could not stand up, read things, make ppl accountable. Instead the USA is no more "the one country of many states (unus de pluribus), but since the 50ies Lords blessed people, even though the founding papers still state very clear, that religion is no foundation of this state.
Who's gonna hold em accountable? Who exactly? I can't exactly walk up to the white house and throw em out. I ain't happy with the US. At all. But it's not like we can just do shit. Our politicians have sucked major ass for decades. We're TRYING to kick Trump out as soon as possible.
I guess you should organize in groups and gather subscriptions to change the way you vote for election and together with newsstations you hand your petitions in. And refuse to take your leadership serious. Just don't acknoledge any leadership, but dictatorship, and you do it only with ppl of a newsstation nearby. Get celebrities to join your rally and newsstations and stop being polite to your dictator and dont call ICE something other than fashist paratroops, but speak only if cameras stare at you. No more sugarcoating. Get in touch with layers in your group, have them nearby and on standby duty on a rally, have people operating drones to capture everything on camera if ICE is using force. You are not living in a normal country anymore, you should fight for anybody who stands up, back them. Make sure they don't disappear. Use spyware to know where they are. I am just sucking this out of my fingers, but in my opinion the US have turned fashist, so maybe think about keeping secret lists, you know yourself how far you got to go... I just saw ppl drawn out of houses, the US banned a italian human rights activist/UN worker. Not one day should go bye, that you demonstrate to release deported people, condemning sinking boats... Well - it's your country, maybe you don't have the means, family to protect and so on... but then you'd help organize such groups....

I’m just pointing out why the government is stepping in, because parents didn’t, which is why we have a whole generation of kids that have no clue what sex they are because their echo chamber told them so.
