I was delayed on a plane once and a pilot’s son was sitting next to me. He told me that most domestic US flight delays were avoidable and it’s basically a tech issue- the flight routing software was really basic so a storm on the east coast basically halted massive amounts of airspace vs fine grained rerouting. Apparently pilots had been complaining about it for many years. Sounds like that’s finally going to get addressed with some new tech investment 🎉
