everything on the internet is being tracked. It's part of the design.

My name is Mason Berube. I come from the pristine lands of Minnesota in North America. I hardly use computers/internet/phones anymore... but when I do, I choose Nostr, Bitcoin and a decentralized platform.
I'm always looking to meet awesome people in real life. If you're looking to meet up, give me a holler.
I love slow mornings, warm drinks, local food, reading books, studying, traveling, learning, exploring, adventuring, farmers markets, farms, new views.
Pretty cool that people are creating real life products and marketing them via Nostr and exchanging them for BTC... pretty cool. Sovereign money?
I visited a few other nostr clients just now... nostr is pretty cool.
As I was taking a morning walk today, I got to thinking about Primal and the reason why crypto-based platforms don't quite do it for me yet. Here's my take...
It all seems too fragile and intangible for me. I recognize the importance of moving in this direction of sovereign tech and I don't discount this at all, just to preface with that. Yet the tech is still too early for me to feel good about using, in the off chance that I do use it. I do like to post on socials every once and a while and I do think it can be used in a good way to be a source of decentralized news and information for all people... yet something about it still feels intangible, fragile and like a glass ball that can shatter if I lose my keys... and that's what hit me this morning.
The whole key thing... that's the damn thing for me. That's the drop of acid in water that keeps me out of the water. I love this platform, I love decentralized apps, I love the fact that I own my data, that I can take my data to another app if I don't like a particular one, Nostr seems great. But the damn keys.
I need to have physical keys with my nostr/btc/crypto addresses on them that are easily able to sign me in and out at ease. They need to be recognizable to my individuality. This whole long string of numbers and letters should always be in the background with a recognizable front-end of the wallet or keypair that I can easily identify as mine. I need it to say, "Mason's Wallet" and not "nostr56432354lkjiiw45" - that doesn't make sense to any human as far as I can imagine. AND THEN, when I do sign in or create an account or wallet I am told that I MUST remember this insane number sequence and I MUST remember my backup code or else I can lose all of my data... I understand this logistically, totally, of course. Again, I am not complaining here at all. I love that I have this much responsibility with my own data, that's how it should be. But if I DO have that much responsibility, then I need something physical I can wear on a necklace or stash on my dresser. I can't have these digital keys floating around in digital space on my laptop or written on a piece of paper in a notebook somewhere. It's gotta be physical keys for me, just like a vehicle, I need that level of tangibility and realness.
That's my take in a nutshell of why all of this isn't quite it for me yet. My vision is for a more perfect harmony between the physical and digital worlds. I think there's much room for improvement when "onboarding and offboarding" between worlds.
I wish for this to be more streamlined and easy to comprehend. Right now it isn't there for me yet and I think it's not there yet for a lot of other people. I know there's a lot of cold storage wallets out there for crypto. I think there ought to be a similar thing for nostr and these types of platforms... something I can have stamped in metal that maybe scans like a barcode too. I'm not sure yet. I'm just rambling about my insight from today's morning walk.
Thanks for tuning in to "Saturday thoughts, by Mason".
What is social media's function and purpose? I am still questioning...
Stonework today. Costa Rica living. Pura Vida.

I'm so thankful that people are working to build new systems all across the different sectors of tech, ag, farming, education, etc, etc, etc... thank you people who are taking a stand for your sovereignty. Thank you people for being in your power. Thanks Primal team for your diligent work. It's a good day.
Exiting the system. Building a New Earth.
Riding the wave.
I deleted my instagram accounts today.
A good little share by Catherine Austin Fitts. I saw her in person on a North American tour. Amazing soul with incredible messages and quite the life story. It's a short watch, a good reminder. Cheers family.
Alcohol, liquor, beer when sold and consumed in the commercial fashion often times contribute to loss of consciousness, intoxication, depressive symptoms, fights, poor sleep, gut issues, skin irritations and unregulated actions among many other things.
Why would a municipality or township want to own and operate such an establishment?
What are the intentions of these municipalities and townships? Do they want to support the health and wealth of the people?
Liquor stores are a societal norm... but just because that is so, doesn't mean we have to continue on 'business as usual'. Nothing changes if nothing changes.
Just a thought I've been pondering as I think about community in general... why our towns own and operate liquor stores... and why the people like their liquor so much.
Questions people... questions that roam my mind.
Hi family. Wishing you peace and serenity this night. The world is wild mess right now on the one hand... and a beautiful new earth on the other hand. It's all about perspective and where you stand. Life comes in waves, some waves bigger, others smaller... these waves roll through humanity and they hit people at different times depending upon the individuals soul experience. Each wave of life affects each individual differently. It's a beautiful thing.
Technology is a wave, it comes and it goes. As time goes on, there will come a point where nobody will be using 'nostr' or 'primal' or 'facebook' or a 'computer' for that matter. It's all a wave... it'll dissipate and take a new form, a new shape, in a new way.
"Nothing to get hung about" ... as they say.
Local food, growing your own, meeting people in person, reclaiming your humanity, your power, your story... these are tangible ways to embody our higher power. Meditate, exercise, love, share, teach, learn, drink clean water, say yes when it means yes and no when it means no... these are all ways we can embody our higher power.
Cheers ya'll
