A drawback of the gold standard days was that it made the feds feel they needed to monopolize gold. It was illegal to own gold in the US between the 40s and 70s.

If you encoded your videos with h264 video and AAC audio in an MP4 container they will work for everyone.
It would also help people on mobile connections, this 2:38 video is 350MB. Some of the full length movies I post are less than 600MB.

RIP mobile users 💀 This video is under 3 minutes but weighs in at 350 MB. A 4K video with PCM audio in a mov container. If vlogs are going to work on Nostr video compression really needs to be implemented on clients. The wrong encoding formats means a large chunk of users wont be able to see or hear it, and it will kill peoples mobile data plans quickly.
The most compatible seem to be h264 video with AAC audio. This will work on desktops, Android, and iOS.

They had already broken the Gold standard by that point, they just didn't admit to it. Right after confiscating Gold they revalued the dollar against it, going from $20.67 an Oz to $35 an Oz. It was the first visible crack, with WW2 increasing our Gold supply substantially the collapse of the Gold standard was postponed but we stopped being on the Gold standard the moment the first federal reserve notes started being printed.
Limit the bitrate to 600-1,000 kbit/sec
It's not about the resolution... It's about the bitrate if you want smaller size and quicker loading over slow networks.
How do I get started making these? I have a few ideas.
