Masih Alinejad is not a freedom fighter. She is a US paid actor to spread misinformation on Iran to manufacture consent for the US' illegal war on the country and its consequent war crimes to destabilize the region in favor of USRael, and the receipts are freely verifiable for anyone. Over the past 10 years, Alinejad has been paid almost a Million Dollars by the US Agency for Global Media, an initiative founded during WW2 with the purpose of winning the "global struggle for minds and wills" with the programs Voice of America and later Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, which have been widely documented to be covertly funded by the CIA. As Senator Edward Zorinsky said of the program (then still called USIA), it "would be no different than an organ of Soviet propaganda if its products were to be available domestically," arguing for these disinformation vehicles to be banned for the blatant psychological manipulation they entail, which stand against any and all values we hold dear in a democracy. Personally I think its great that we now have such amazing human rights activists in our ranks that swoop these paid pro-war propaganda people like Alinejad for free into our communities. Well done everybody. Somewhere in Langley someone is very proud of you. image View quoted note →

I remember I I followed her on Twitter a few years ago, but I couldn't remember why..
Yes Iranians absolutely have valid grievances, and I 100% support their uprising, but... This war was manufactured top to bottom. The US has openly admitted they ignited the revolution on purpose by cutting off Iran's supply of dollars, which is what led to the collapse of the Iranian Rial, and then shortly after that, the Iranian uprising began. Dollars weren't cut off to assuage the grievances of civil society, but to destabilize the country and soften it up for war... The same war that is almost certainly killing separatists at the exact same rate as sympathizers. Essentially the United States purposefully kettled a whole nation into a revolution. We need to keep a very close eye on everything they do, including paying people who are useful dissenters. It'a a complicated issue for sure, but at the end of the day this is all happening because the United States is treating the world like a stage and freedom fighters as handy paid actors.

Primal main source of venture capital is a guy that founded a failed Mexican solar energy company (literal glownigger) with money from Max Levchin and has no real success stories. This leads me to believe that he’s just a proxy by which people close to the US surveillance state try to financially support Nostr. But beyond that, Primal is *architecturally* compromised. It is a centralized service that prevents you from viewing Nostr the protocol and instead has you viewing Primal’s extremely centralized caching server, over which they regularly exercise the powers of censorship and editorial control.

“It is open source and you can run your own” does not make it not censorious — Mastodon is open source and you can run your own, and it is a hotbed of censorship. “Just run your own social media service!” is the exact echo of the most censorious people on earth. Most clients outside Primal have multiple relays by default, most or all of which they do not control. This includes Amethyst, Damus, Wisp, etc. If chooses Damus to block me on their relay, most people are still going to see my content because I am publishing to the other relays. Also most people can, via the relay hints provided by nevents when you quote a post, fetch my content from relays I post to even if you do not directly follow me or subscribe to my relay. If Primus blocks me from their caching server’s algorithmic feed, then I am silently erased and you will never see my content again. The only way this is different from Twitter is because people can take their nsecs elsewhere, but they provide no notice to users or opportunity for transparency as to what content they have removed. It is not just “caching the content from the relay” btw, it is selecting who gets seen at all in an editorialized fashion. And they have been caught not only censoring likes, but censoring entirely the display of basic post content in their algorithmic relay feed. View quoted note →

sorry, "financially support” here should read “financially subvert”.
Or maybe it is? I blocked him ages ago. 0 skills displayed other than looking good without a shirt, 0 things built. I never saw him buy anything from or promote a pleb business here on nostr. I never saw him add value to freedom or Bitcoin dialog. Who is funding his lifestyle? Why? Why do so many of you boost his low effort "look at me" posts that I had to block him to stop seeing every single one of his posts? Wasn't he living in El Salvador where they lock people up in some of the worst jails in the world without trial including partnering with Trumps ICE to lock up their detainees internationally so they don't have to face legal challenges to their treatment on American soil?
Who does care about the Iranians in Iran? The regime that murders them for speaking out? Do we know how other Iranians like @Momo or @Pegah feel about her or we just hate her because she is allied with the “evil” US empire?
Fair enough. So instead of listening to people actually impacted in the country you prefer to support a regime that murders their own citizen, shuts down the internet and funds terrorist proxies in the region… Maybe you should move to Iran and see how much freedom you have to spew the bullshit you do on a daily basis
Your a fucking joke lol What would you like @Pegah to do in her situation? Maybe have some humility and stop acting like a privileged hypocrite that complains about the evil us government who provides you the freedom to make asinine statements like you just did Want to ask @Momo for his thoughts or will you find some reason to disregard his statements also?
🤣 Tell me you don’t understand how the world works without explicitly telling me Please entertain me though. What is your solution to the current situation we find ourselves in?
The United States is not perfect and certainly deserves plenty of criticism but will never understand the critics that cannot be objective and realize there is a lesser of two evils in this situation Again you are aligning with a murderous regime that mass murders their own citizens and shuts down any dissent by cutting the internet off over the “free” world. I understand that “free” is not actually free but it should be a pretty obvious choice here. Are you planning on moving to Iran or North Korea anytime soon? If not than could be time to reconsider who you are fighting against
He lives in CR and he lives more on bitcoin than anyone I have ever met. He spends all day every day either surfing, creating content for nostr, or educating people about bitcoin. I know everyone has haters and everyone is free to be as salty as they like, but I figured it was worth saying that whatever problems there are with Primal, Paul is a great dude. With a world full of people who don't care enough to think twice about bitcoin and haven't even heard of nostr I'd be grateful for thousands more of him.
Thanks for the correction on living location. The shameless undisclosed influencer partnership with daylight was enough for me to start assuming the worst in other cases too. I may have overshot my assumptions but I won't be unblocking based on this.
That’s what I said in her original post, tried my best to alert NOSTRians about her.
Appears you are also immune to critical thinking and understanding nuance Imagine thinking you are on the right side when you victim shame someone like @Pegah because she is “not doing anything” when her government cuts off the internet 🤣
Your not missing anything with that 🤡 Lots of hypocrites on this platform that like to complain about things while not realizing how good they have it
The three letter agencies are interested anytime a group grows over hundreds of people and usually they have folks from IC to participate and analyze the group from inside. You will get that at conferences, social networks, etc. That's how the government keeps a tap on what's up. Nostr has some 20k DAU, which is above the threshold for sure. In some ways, you can divide the population of the US by 5000 and you get the number of how many agents you need, which is a very digestible number.
Not sure how my posts are being construed as a nervous breakdown 🤣 We can agree to disagree. I hope you don’t mute me as I like to engage with people I do not agree with as that is how I learn and expand my understanding of the world we all share. I personally reserve my mutes for the rabid jew haters crawling around all over
🤝 We can all learn how to engage more amicably and I am certainly trying to improve my own approach Unfortunately there is a lot of nuance to these topics and some of these discussions require what you claim is “whataboutism”. This started because you threw a ton of shade at someone who is new to nostr and the person that onboarded her. I added my thoughts/opinions and your response was to attack an innocent victim that is directly impacted by the whole situation
there’s tremendous nuance in the situation, both the US AND THE IRANIAN government are awful for their genocidal actions. That being said, the iranians supporting isreal are utterly pathetic. Isreal does not care one bit about the citizens of iran, they don’t care if women have rights, they just want to steal the land just as they did in Palestine, which is just historical fact not opinion. The nuance is so lost and it’s instantly thought that because someone doesn’t support a genocidal “country” that they’re a regime supporter. the iranian government doesn’t care about the iranian people, the usa doesn’t care about the iranian people , and isreal definitely doesn’t care about the iranian people.
We haven't missed the point that the US and Israeli governments don’t care about the Iranian people. But interests can align anyway and here's a rare point in history where foreign powers also see their benefit in the Islamic regime falling - no more appeasement.
Appreciate your perspective but personally think it is such a lazy approach to just say “everyone sucks” Are people in the US and Israel happier and more free than Iranians? Yes all governments suck but it should not be hard to say that the US and Israeli governments are better than the Iranian regime. If you think the Iranian regime is better than I think you should move there and support them
how does that ensure freedom for the iranian people, when the countries who are wanting to bring them down are the ones killing them? why are we so quick to believe that they have pure intentions? freeing them while gaining nothing.
Thank you for the support! I could have done better avoiding a passive aggressive tone but this whole topic is insane to me I am no fan of the us government but can still have enough brain cells to realize that the shitty us government is 1000x better than the Iranian terror regime
nah, i’m not even going to proceed with responding to your ignorant words, and utter lack of depth. once your able to learn the glorious task of reading comprehension, and come back with a proper response i will respond. watering down my words to “everyone sucks”, blatantly shows your inability to understand nuance. but then again it must be hard to read with netanyahu’s genocidal dick is in your mouth.
Ugh I do not think anything I said really required such an unhinged response but here we are! I fucking hate Netanyahu but sure that last sentence puts the icing on the cake for your biases If you hate the western (US and Israel) governments so much you are more than welcome to leave and go move to Iran 🫡
Iranian regime murders their own citizens and funds terrorist proxies that murder and bomb citizens all over the region Want to try again?
Had to come over to Nostur to see your unhinged rant. I laugh every time I see you spew your bullshit and will continue to live rent free in your little Jew hating brain Go fuck yourself you hateful piece of shit

I was in Egypt when people tried to rise up and the USA got involved to make sure a true uprising could occur. Fascinating listening to Egyptians talking to friends and family whilst explaining which bits of the news from Europe and USA were fabricated or slanted. There's always lots of options but you don't know what's going on and quite probably why either. Each side just goes on. "Look Iran funds terrorism" is to ignore Israeli and USA funding things like ISIS. Each side brands their funded groups as the moral ones fighting a just cause. Those doing the funding sip champagne at their victories and get frustrated at their losses but probably from some nice calm villa, out of the way. In the mean time, people discuss and the obvious narrative spinners and paid agitprop accounts fire up on nostr of all places to stir the pot. The protocol has come a long way but every forum will have those who are paid to swing the bat in information war. Web of trust and engagement worthy causes to maintain a good list of blocks and your own personal trust meter rating. PV

*USA made sure could NOT occur. Nostr typos and meanings! 🤣
They call everything a genocide, now. Or terrorism. I don't know if liberal Iranians were strategically clever to support the war or not, but neither does anyone else. Only time will tell. I do know that @saeed was relieved that at least someone was finally doing something, and is probably appalled at what a mess the amateurs at the DoD have made of it. But he was also weary of facing another decade of more of the same. As we say here, _Sometimes it is better to choose a horrible end, than a horror without end._ Not everyone can or will escape to America and flounce about on Nostr (a place they generally avoid because they don't really care about it), waxing poetic about free speech, while ignoring the fact that Nostr was created for people like @saeed because their speech is not free. Because they live in Iran. And Iran is not a free place. The Iranian government has since shut him up. Hopefully, not permanently.
Side note concerning the OP: Anyone attempting to dictate who anyone on Nostr may onboard, communicate with, or be seen near, **is a censor** and part of the problem we are trying to solve with this technology.
Agree, and optimistically I expect that in time such can only be dictated at scale where others' webs of trust are blindly accepted. Those who would adhere to someone else's attestation based on such a flimsy heuristic are building themselves an echochamber. Their perception will suffer accordingly, realworld results will be outwardly less appealing, and beget rethinking. Those who use their own discretion and are more careful in what meaning they choose to ascribe to associations they witness from others will have a more truthful and full experience. It all comes out in the wash.
Nobody thinks anyone has pure intentions. Nobody even agrees on what “pure intentions” are. The question is whether it is a viable strategy for regime change going forward and whether it is worth the cost. Or if regime change would even bring in a better regime, rather than anarchy or a more-extreme version of what was already there. Civilians are often the majority of the people dying or injured during any larger conflict. Up to 90% of the casualties, if the war is fought in heavily populated areas. This is not the sole determining factor in whether the war is unjust or unwise. Many more German civilians died during WWII than soldiers did. That doesn't mean the Allied invasion of Germany was a bad idea.
Strong claims Always worth following the money and checking sources directly, but separating evidence from emotion is important too
I both admire your cynicism and find value in it @L0la L33tz It's important for us to know where the people who are attempting to influence us are coming from, in this case the US intelligence apparatus. The US intelligence apparatus is fucking disgusting, they've aligned themselves with Palintir to bomb girls schools, just as one example. The hypocrisy in Europe regarding these "cool badass Iranian women" who eschew the hijab and so on, is self evidently the product of regime change propaganda: in Iran, the hijab is a symbol of an oppressive regime, but criticise the same hijab in Europe and it's hatespeech?! In today's world, cynicism should be the default
You are doing a phenomenal job of making yourself look like an ignorant fool Not that you matter to me at all but karma is a bitch and you should learn a little humility while you live a privileged existence in America and have the freedom to criticize the American government
The question should not be "why aren't you praising the less shitty kidnapper?" All the freedoms you claim US "give" are already our innate human rights on this planet. Thanking your kidnapper for being closer to treating you like a free person instead of fighting back for still holding you hostage is their patriotic propaganda right at work. They economically and violently exploit the rest of the world, then lull you into being content by making you believe America is better while your liberties are being brokered between lobbyists and politicians, causing generational decline in prosperity and well being. Iran, Israel, and US have all done despicable harm to innocent humans. Just like most governments that ever existed. I never understand why people get in these "but but my side less evil!" arguments, it's such a distraction.
We can continue to go back and forth on this topic all day long but in the end it doesn’t matter much The main point I am trying to make here is that America (and broader western “democracies”) is not perfect but it should be pretty obvious to anyone with a functioning brain that it is preferable to live in America over Iran. The people claiming America is a genocidal regime should give up their freedoms and go move to Iran where they can actually live under a genocidal regime
Because the simple view that fighting the better government makes it all go away is almost childlike in nature. Don’t you think there is something wrong when the overwhelming majority of content seen in here on this topic is ‘anti-western?’ I can understand if both were criticised, but that isn’t what we see. What we do see is a constant anti-western theme, with hyperbolic emothional language, and the most extreme totalitarian and genocidal side gets a free pass. It’s time to sit in a quiet room and have a good long think. The only time I ever see anyone ever suggest Iranians and their proxies are the lowest of the low, is when the initial anti-wstern rhetoric gets some push back. Then, and only then, does someone meekly suggest “yeh, well they are all bad”
What makes it all go away is being agnostic to who the worst government is, and focusing on the solutions that take power away from centralized tyranny. What does ranking pedophiles and mass murderers achieve? Divide and distract us from the systems they built to enslave us. I think a lot more progress can be made towards freedom by building the decentralized tech and communities instead. image
Nope just me reiterating the same points over and over again because you retards can’t seem to understand the reality we live in I think you should book a one way flight to Iran and stop bitching about America
I am capable of criticizing bad and have done so in this thread. The United States federal government suck ass and we would all be better off if we reduced their power That does not preclude me from still thinking that the shitty US government is better for humanity than the genocidal Iranian regime… Why can’t you admit the same and realize that we have governments today and they are not just going to disappear overnight so we might as well work with the more reasonable regimes and try to rid the world of genocidal terrorist ones
🤣 but also very 😢 Queers for Palestine or feminists for Iran are the epitome of the 🤡 🌎 we all inhabit Hopefully the pendulum starts swinging back the other way soon
I hope you are wrong but fear you could be right Can just go look through my feed to find the rabid Jew haters who claim to be “god loving Christians” As soon as I see someone blame the Zionists/jews as the reason for all of the worlds problems I just call them out on their bullshit and tell them to cope harder.
Good luck with your strategy bud. I prefer live in a society with all the modern luxuries and being able to enjoy my life. Not ready to go off grid and be a mountain man but to each your own. I do the bare minimum to comply but am intelligent enough to realize that I still need to play by the rules “You may not care about the state but the state cares about you”…unfortunately the state currently has the bigger guns and access to all of our information
The ones with internet did respond retard @Momo provided his insight but you are apparently 2 stupid to follow a thread @Pegah has indicated she has very limited internet connectivity since the war because the genocidal regime governing the country cut off outside internet for their citizens
IRGC props up terrorist proxies, is the number 1 financier of global terror groups, kills its own citizens, hold its own neighbours hostage, and openly calls for genocide via its proxies - by…. wait for it…. dropping bombs on civilians as a strategy. Not a consequence of war, but an open strategy. And you are out here criticising action against that? Seriously?
This is getting tiresome. Ready to mute all these retards and just move on but then they win and get to spread their bullshit unchecked
Just glad I found an ally on here Was getting very lonely battling these retards on my own Agree with you that it is worth it if we can convince one of these guys/gals. Would think the same thing when I would argue with the shitcoiners on X

Why would irgc have genocidal intent? They have authoritarian intent. They are willing to enforce themselves by any means. But the intent is not to displace and exterminate, which is what the US supports Israel to do. Israel was setup by terrorist organisations to grow their refuge into a sovereign territory, and then to expand their territory and sovereignty. All middle eastern conflicts further them in their goals. They win land, and/or the US loses their grip on the region, and/or they enemies are mutually destructive. That is the extent of possible outcomes. Frankly, Iran is a huge territory with a large number of discrete populations of very capable people. I'm not sold on the idea that it is some hellscape. Maybe in some small pockets. I try to isolate what is reliably true, and the incentives of the major players. Everyone is incentivised to propogandise. Accusing people of being shills is silly unless you can evidence. Otherwise just call them retarded.
Words of caution... about what? What is she threatening him with? There is no caution without danger. Why should he not post a selfie of someone he just met? What is he supposed to be afraid of? Her. He's supposed to be afraid of her.
Listen to yourself. How many conferences and meetups have you been to? Do you think we call secret services (who, the CIA 😂 ?) for a background check before taking pictures with people. As soon as you start doing that, you are actually then implicitly vouching for the background of everyone you post a selfie with. That would be a complete own-goal. Either you treat everyone equally, or you don't help anyone onboard.
I'm listening to myself, that being said, it's irrelevant how many conferences I've been to, it wouldn't change this womans relationship to western intelligence agencies, which is that of a bought and paid for agent provocateur.

If I wanted zionist slop I'd listen to Goldie Ghamari. Way hotter.
There are three major ideologies at play in the world today. You can label one western, one marxist, and one islamic. I agree all three should stop trying to push their own preferences on the others, but one of the three stopping does not mean the other two do. You see that for what it is, I assume? ( And no, the west pushing is not the reason the other two are trying to spread - that is a gaslighting tactic only the retards fall for 🤣 )
Awesome dude. Took the fam to Spain. Literally just walked through the door, open the laptop, and was reminded how retarded the ‘woke’ mind is 🤣
This shit reads like one of Jeffery Epsteins emails. The way you exclusively hate communists and Muslims.. The liberalised retard with his judeo western values hates both the communists and the Muslims because who the fuck else opposes the globalist banking cartels outside of communists and Muslims? Who actually forbids usury? Which countries are executing pedophiles while "western values" countries are electing pedophiles?
Hate is a strong word, and I never used it once. Now that we are there, I would say I hate Pedophiles - more than a Jihadist ( Unless he is a Pedo too ) Is your claim that there are no Pedo’s in what would fall under the ‘Marxist’ camp? You can’t mean there are none in Islamic ideology ffs 🤣

US hegemony cannot be labelled a western ideology, I don't think. There are forces behind it, the infamous deep state. But it's not liberal. It's not pushing individual freedoms obviously. You mention marxism. I'm seeing what you call "wester" pushing marxism everywhere in the western world seemingly to force more control on society.
Of course Marxism is being pushed by people in the west. That’s how the marxists push it lol. Again, for the last time, just because someone in a given location pushes an ideology, it doesn't mean the locality trumps the ideology when looking at this from top down. How is this so hard? 😂 Like I said to someone else in the thread, if it makes it easier to understand, replace the word ‘western’ with anything else that doesn't also get used to denote a location.
