I'll add mine. @pam she always has lengthy well thought out notes and replies. @Teder he's new to Nostr, produces great music, and has started streaming them on zap.stream. @hzrd149 is a talented developer that's building a new protocol to make decentralized image/ file sharing better than current solutions available

I told a demoncrat their policy was a slippery slope, and she said that was the slippery slope fallacy. Basically, "Just because you say it's a slippery slope doesn't mean it is." It should instead be called the "nuh-uhh" fallacy, or the "let me slide down this slope, damnit" fallacy. This is what they're teaching kids in debate class now-days.

thank you, though nostr might be the only place anyone appreciates lengthy well thought out notes and replies =)
Thank you Derek, well appreciated! Here we go: @Sebastix, an experienced developer devoting most of his time and energy towards contributing to the nostr development ecosystem @Jurjen de Vries, avid advocate of nostr, grabbing attention at each possible platform to evangelise nostr. (Also props for tracking me down via my relay and inviting me to the meetup) @Djuri, bitcoin lightning developer and heavily involved in the Dutch bitcoin scene
There are so many people I would recommend, so this is hard. But a few that come to mind include: @SimplifiedPrivacy.com for some great tutorial and educational content @npub132vp...m80g writes some great cyberpunk short stories @npub1rukp...z4f0 makes awesome art @Ava (you should be well-followed if you’re not already) @Neuromancer has some great short form posts (and a great name, h/t one of the greatest sci-fi novels) There’s really @no₿ody™ 🧱 to follow here anyway 😉
Yeahh I feel this. I unfollowed a big one or two so I could see other profiles and my feed wouldn’t just be their stuff shared 100 times. But I do like their posts too, I just figured I’d see them eventually anyway - this was my test 🥹 like a dev, kind of 🫂 @unit - not a small profile, but just in case you haven’t seen them. They’re funny and have heartfelt posts @pokarim - their photography makes me feel so much. Can’t zap them though 😭 sad @muneomi 🇯🇵 - not a small profile, but I really love film photography, and their photography also makes me feel so much. @eric - taught me what a chode is 🥹
Just don’t follow me. All I’m gonna do is love ya a bit too much and try to find balance and nuance in a world of superlatives ✌️
Sorry, forgot to explain: The Fishcake: Awesome #NostrAfterDark pics, building Nostr.band. The Mutiny team because they rock and are building Mutiny Wallet, Karnage is the awesome cat behind so many project designs, Uno is kinda annoying and you honestly shouldn't follow him, and Alby for obvious reasons.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🫂💜 noo we must start big 😍 go big or go home ☺️ except I hope they don’t go ‘home’ 😭🫂 Wouldn’t it be cool if a picture of the Rosstrich popped up for every new sign up 🥹

I'll share two here. npub1aey28cdr6ht6fnvualf40jshd2x0h0ahj0ccr9rd5t47hry3qdzq9cjh3v Jules Shengo is the executive director of an NGO working in Kakuma, Kenya. He has not yet been able to post any stories or photos of the work that he is doing with his school, his garden, his fish farm or the infrastructure work around his community because he is waiting to be able to afford the data. npub1uf6syeg9jry7dfgl4ujntpquxt8fs8rlqy9e7rf2t5fsptmd5xkst9pzg9 Kelvin Dafiaghor is a teacher in Nigeria who is focused on giving his students exposure to the latest technology from AI to 3D printers, giving them a head start to rebuild their community as they grow and learn. He has been able to share one note, but is waiting for enough Data to be able to share more. He also needs to get his phone fixed so that it can charge while he uses it. Both of these local leaders were people that I invited to Nostr, hoping to see them post so I could share and we could build a community of people who want to support their work and help them build a circular economy around where they live. I can't give much and that has been a disappointment, but I'm staying positive and encouraging them to share notes, photos and to invite others to build their local networks. As the network grows, so does the sats.
Libertarian Institute has the potential to bring us tens of thousands of new users if we can convince them that this first account is a success so the podcasters use it: npub1jjn8f2qr0cc576c0qme737hgh0d8j3uyrugrehhyv4rh9dwy3kyqc39576

What you call individualism is the result of collectivism. Collectivist-altruist philosophy and tribalism is what leads to people who can't think or properly defend their positions. A lack of individualism is the problem. An individual necessarily must think and use reason in this world. A collectivist follows a tribe and uses violence or fallacies because he has nothing else to offer.
simplified privacy gives me good info on this topic frequently, and no-bullshit Bitcoin same thing but with new things happening in the dev space
I agree and think it's gotten way harder lately despite me trying harder to connect with people . seems like there's been significant attrition but I find I get much better awareness o BTCf dev stuff thru NOSTR than twitter

Adding on to the list, some interesting people i follow @Andrew - Andrew has many interesting ideas and side projects, he has a client, he experiments the concept of bridging people by topics, fediverse bridge etc - he brings in many popular people and stories around the world through the fediverse bridge @daniele - Nostr designer / dev , Daniele is a positive energy and always looking for new ideas and creative ways to move forward. Daniele is also an entrepreneur, and an Italian so his food standard is way up there. I should come clean and admit i bake my spaghetti bolognese and we may no longer be friends after this! @allen - I always thought Allen was a math professor in his 50s - i was very wrong. All i know is that he married a wonderful person in a kilt and has a long list of interesting shows he likes. But that aside, Allen is incredibly smart, I have had great conversation and love his writings where he breaks down complex concepts into practical day-to-day usage @unclebobmartin - Uncle Bob is the coolest!! Asides his incredible track record globally , uncle Bob is a constant reminder of living life wonderfully and to the fullest. He has patiently answered many of my questions. I have learnt a lot from him and I am grateful for it. Uncle Bob runs a client here as well - he has been here many years before many of us. @marina - Marina always runs competitions especially the devs hackathons. We need more of her! @npub1hyqr...k7cp - Mike is a human encyclopedia - Off late he has been bridging psychology and politics. Debates with Mikes are interesting to watch - I constantly look forward to Mike's writings over the weekends on Nostr @miles 🌞 - Miles was one of the early people who helped me understand the Bitcoin use cases. He has really interesting thoughts and concepts and it def got me wanting to read more and understand Bitcoin better @yutaro - Yutaro is a Japanese in Thailand who often post nice places to go, food to eat, things to do - its a palate cleanser esp on heavy days @Man Like Kweks - Kweks is expanding Bitcoin program to Tanzania and has shared grassroot problems and how Bitcoin can benefit the people there. He is also an artist! @Anita - Anita teaches Bitcoin programs in Africa and also clarifies complex concepts into use cases and practical solutions. As I write this, I realized there are so many amazing people on Nostr - and the list can go on and on!
Great thread here👇

Thanks for the kind words Pam! It is great that you cook some Italian pasta, just *please* don't break up the spaghetti 😅😂
Indeed, but on the other hand, this difficulty in finding people makes you value those you meet much more, always prioritizing quality over quantity, a big difference other conventional social networks.

@Deleted Account posts some cool bitcoin theory and delves into some interesting ideas on where we could be headed.
