Just released 1.4(79) after a bunch of fixes, testing, and breaking. Tested transcoding a 2+ hours video on iPhone 16, with no issues and shrinking size by 85% with no perceptible loss of quality. Works in background (for defaults and majority of settings), recovers from pauses/failures/crashes, and defaults are easily tunable. Give it a try.

I’ve started developing NBS out of frustration about my inability to prepare video from my iPhone. It was so simple in the beginning, no fancy things, just few tweaks and generic Apple presets. Today, on iOS 26+ TestFlight, it is a fully blown HandBreak and much more. Cuts, trims, effects, watermark, adjustments, face tracking, etc. Not fully done with the features that I want to add, but now that the core pipeline is solid and efficient, and with bunch of neural features, it will be easier. Always looking for users’ feedback.

People worry more about the tools than the actual thing they are working on. Always has been, always will stay. Focus on the outcome, not how you get there, you can always optimize later your workflow if you need to do it again.

It’s 2026, and people still cannot maintain a reasonable uptime for their Lightning nodes 🤦🏼‍♂️
