As we move towards May 22nd, the 16th anniversary of Bitcoin pizza day, it is worth understanding why it was such an incredible milestone and what it kicked off. Learn what must be done if we are not to let Lazlo's sacrifice be in vain. Lazlos transaction was the first real monetary spend of Bitcoin. Before it was an established store of value, this was the first attempt at making it a medium of exchange. He proved it was possible. Money requires velocity to be money. But Gresham's law says bad money drives out good. You want to hodl good money and are less incentivised to spend good money. Without spending, there is little to no velicity. If the money you're hodling is not already widely accepted, then it won't be widely transacted. And if it is not widely transacted, it fails as money as the velocity trends to zero. Over the long term, it is exposed to capture and can easily lose its ability to function even as a store of value. Becoming also a medium exchange hardens bitcoin by giving it two globally accepted use cases so it cannot be as easily captured. This is a more perfect monetary, until now, never discovered by man until now. On May 22nd, I urge everyone to buy something with Bitcoin. Remember that we need both Store of Value and Medium if Exchange if we want to see hyperbitcoinization. Hodl is great but we are early and the revolution requires sacrifice from each of us.
