Family and friends are almost all I care about now. The carrot chasing doesn't interest me anymore. The reward is mostly a mirage anyway. Fiat jobs are largely pointless. I have hobbies and interests, but I've tried to pick ones that get me closer to friends and family. Maybe I'm just getting older and softer. Maybe that's all that ever really mattered. GM.

Our emergency department recently hired two nurse supervisors so we'd have more access to support (rather than our single manager who was rarely around). Cool. Any time we've approached them they seem annoyed or too busy with meetings to be bothered, usually tossing it back. They're always on Teams meetings when I stop by their office. Why they both need to sit side-by-side on the same fucking meetings is a mystery to me. Anyway, they're moving their office to the other side of the hospital. They also hired six other support staff who will also have offices outside the department. Our request was actually for bedside staff due to unsafe conditions. This is what we got. Basically more administrators. Haha. Did you think there was a happy ending? Nah. The moral of the story is that the Teams class culture ruins every environment it touches.

I was talking to a woman at work about this yesterday. We are pretty much political opposites yet somehow get along well (she's older, I think this plays a part). I finally got her to admit that all media networks are toxic these days, not just those her side hates. We even agreed that most social media is the same toxicity. It's a unique feeling to hate elements of the modern world with someone you're supposed to hate. The more we've both disconnected, the more we've actually talked to each other like humans.
