i respect if you choose not to drink but every major decision in modern history has occurred over whisky

Including a decision that ended with me in handcuffs. Well, ok, that probably wasn’t a major decision in modern history. Heck, 44 years ago probably isn’t what you consider modern.

I love alcohol, but I don't like recovering from it over a 3 day post period. I never noticed it when I was younger, but now I do, and physiologically it's undeniably terrible for your insulin and your ability to destroy cancer cells. In my opinion, it's fine to get blitzed occasionally, but more than a few times a year isnt worth it.
I only drink when making major decisions. Also, I consider single or double a major decision.

It's never going to be perfect. It's hard to tell, but this is the best humanity has ever had it. So obviously something has worked out. We can do better, but that doesn't mean no good has happened.
Yeah that was a quip more than anything… should include a meme of post bomb Hiroshima with a ‘why did I have that last whisky’ comment.
Maybe that is the root of the problem? All these retarded politicians are just drunk and don't even realise they're being manipulated by zionists to destroy their own countries and bleed their own citizens to fund a child sex trafficking network
Ah yes, he best humanity has ever had is when there are more slaves then any time before in history, and we get to watch videos of Israelis raping babies on our phones while the politicians tell us that it's good for Israelis to rape babies and we all deserve to be killed for saying raping babies is bad. Yeah humanity has never been better before (if your idea of humanity is raping babies)
Or vodka, or whatever the Chinese drink before they kill millions of their countrymen.

"Facts! 🎉🍻 But real talk, do you think it’s the age or just our bodies giving us the side-eye now? 🤔 #AgingIsWeird"
I think it always had the effect, I just didn't notice because I was living such an unhealthy lifestyle with food. At the time, I had no idea about seedoils or carbs. You said carbs to me and I think "that's good, right?" I had no friggin idea, all I knew was "soy bad, eggs, bacon, beef, and avocados good" at least I had a reasonable starting point.

Satoshi was a drunk?
Maybe you are right, but, I don't think that's much of a point in your favor seeing the way we've been reduced throughout modern history....😂
I have it on good authority that God was three sheets to the wind when he lit his fart and… bang! Jesus was a sherry man, and Buddha means “he who is shitfaced” in Pali.

Or maybe whisky just gave the courage to sign the papers 🍷
Nobody said about the decisions being the right ones. But yes with alcohol decisions do become a lot easier and it may actually help not to overthink in some cases.
Yes, totally agree. And I would include wine into the mix of totally acceptable alcohol drinks. As a matter of fact, sweet cider is the only alcohol drink that doesn’t quite cut it. (For some reason there are a lot of Christians who refuse to drink and I think it's for religious reasons. But didn't Jesus himself drink wine? I think so. And for sure he had nothing against people who drink wine.)

Not true. PSA (because I love you): Be careful to not let the short term intensity of addictive choices fill your voids. Choose healthy, long term intimacy as the solution and life's big decisions. Faith. Love. Community. Self care. Pura vida. Stay humble.
Folks are big mad. Lighten up everyone! Make healthy choices for yourself and your family, and let people enjoy things

I stand will Odell. I require whisky for most interactions. I would also like to highlight the spelling indicating Scottish Whisky.
Still, my point would be the same. People pretend like life was a fairytale when the reality is that far more people suffered many more horrors than now. Natural and unnatural. People lose sight of the progress that has been made because of the bad that still exists.

## Bitcoin Reserve: How govs will steal from you to build the reserves? The evolving landscape of Bitcoin is increasingly influenced by state-level tracking and regulatory frameworks. As governments develop systems to monitor and control Bitcoin transactions, the implications for users and the market are profound. ### The Trackability of Bitcoin at State Level Bitcoin operates on a public ledger, making it **pseudonymous**. While individual users can maintain privacy through various techniques, state-level entities can effectively track transactions. - **Chain Analytics**: Firms and government agencies can analyze transaction flows and link them to real-world identities, especially when users interact with regulated services. - **Revelio Insights**: The Revelio paper illustrates how network-level observations on ligthning network can reveal custodial holdings and flows, enabling state-level attribution. ### The Custodial vs. Non-Custodial Wallet System A new regulatory framework is emerging that distinguishes between custodial and non-custodial wallets: - **KYC/AML Compliance**: Regulators will require that wallets and custodians interoperate only through channels that enforce Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules. - **Isolation of Non-Compliant Wallets**: Wallets that do not comply will be unable to transact with regulated entities, effectively isolating them from the broader financial ecosystem. ### The Mechanics of Blocking and Seizing Funds States are developing mechanisms to control Bitcoin transactions, which could lead to the seizure of funds: - **Transaction Failures**: When a user attempts to make a purchase, if the transaction fails compliance checks (e.g., BIS), the funds are blocked. - **Government-Controlled Reserves**: Blocked funds will be redirected to a government-controlled Bitcoin reserve, effectively allowing states to seize assets under the guise of regulatory compliance. ### Market Implications for Users The implications of these developments for users are significant: - **Reduced Autonomy**: Users relying on regulated exchanges and custodial wallets will find their assets increasingly linkable and subject to seizure. - **Increased Friction**: The need to comply with KYC/AML regulations will create barriers for users, limiting their ability to transact freely. ### Last but not least The combination of state-level tracking and a bifurcated wallet system creates a plausible pathway for governments to seize Bitcoin. As compliance becomes a requirement for interoperability, users must navigate a landscape where their assets are at risk of being redirected to government reserves. This shift fundamentally alters the original vision of Bitcoin as a decentralized currency, raising critical questions about user autonomy and financial freedom. #bitcoin #nostr #grownostr #monero

How are you my friend I am from Yemen and we suffer from wars and problems and my financial situation is very difficult can you help me buy food for my family to eat humanitarian service
Fun fact: back then (around the time Jesus lived), wine almost certainly had a lower alcohol content. Most natural (wild) yeast used for fermentation actually stopped working around 4-7% ABV. Modern strains have been developed to allow fermentation up to 12-15%, but these didn't exist back then. Also, it was very common practice in the Greco-Roman world to dilute wine with water in a 1:2 or 1:4 ratio and was considered barbaric and inappropriate to drink it straight. So, not exactly a direct comparison. Also, my high school Latin teacher would be very proud of me right now for remembering this! Just thought you might find that interesting... Carry on and enjoy your wine! Cheers! 🍷
I think you could safely say that every major decision in ancient history occurred over wine. Now it's more likely a mix up uppers, downers and things we can't even contemplate, but for a time it was most surely whiskey.

That face you make when you're making decisions that will change the course of world history image
The Bible forbids alcohol consumption. The Roman Catholics changed it to encourage wine drinking because alcohol destroys brain cells, making people stupid and easier to control
Conceived my kids while sober, thanks. What’d you do?😵‍💫

This is why i now to choose to only drink when making serious life decisions. This is why i win. Simple.
we tested zaps on this note… we made six attempts to⚡zap this note, at sebenza@bitrefill.me, over a period of 5 minutes. Six of the zaps were successfully paid... please check for 6 satoshis received. problem: we found that your lightning address server **did not* properly produce zap receipts, and/or didn't send the zap receipts to the relays specified in the zap. (the zap spec requires that the zap receipts be sent to the relays specified in the zap.) this means a nostr user who zaps you might not see a number appearing next to the ⚡ icon after zapping.... if you wanted to fix this... you could try getting a free rizful lightning address -- ... if u get it set up, pls reply here so we can do this ⚡zap test again.
Most of the people drink. But if they didn't drink at that moment, it had to be a more advanced decision, probably. :-)
