Yes, totally agree. And I would include wine into the mix of totally acceptable alcohol drinks. As a matter of fact, sweet cider is the only alcohol drink that doesnβt quite cut it.
(For some reason there are a lot of Christians who refuse to drink and I think it's for religious reasons. But didn't Jesus himself drink wine? I think so. And for sure he had nothing against people who drink wine.)

Fun fact: back then (around the time Jesus lived), wine almost certainly had a lower alcohol content. Most natural (wild) yeast used for fermentation actually stopped working around 4-7% ABV. Modern strains have been developed to allow fermentation up to 12-15%, but these didn't exist back then. Also, it was very common practice in the Greco-Roman world to dilute wine with water in a 1:2 or 1:4 ratio and was considered barbaric and inappropriate to drink it straight. So, not exactly a direct comparison. Also, my high school Latin teacher would be very proud of me right now for remembering this!
Just thought you might find that interesting... Carry on and enjoy your wine! Cheers! π·
The Bible forbids alcohol consumption.
The Roman Catholics changed it to encourage wine drinking because alcohol destroys brain cells, making people stupid and easier to control
