Having worked as a Quantum developer for over 5 years; Has to go back to academia first. The industry is delusional
Quantum computers are either going to happen or not happen; at the same time.
given that we are in the time dimension, all our computations are linear. in all competent science fiction novels, if quantum computing technologies figure into the narrative, they take place outside our dimension.
They won't be PCs or used for breaking encryption any time soon but for chemical simulations and deep learning.

I was on a pos-quantum cryptographic PhD defense yesterday and I heard the following sentence: “We are 10y away from quantum computing… by the last 30y”

Or they won't and they will simultaneously.

yes, of course; a pretty good way to get funding from the cathedral.
that's what it is, a VC funding racket, exactly the physics of making the superconductive transister it requires involves so much energy it's absolutely insane, and they have barely raised the minimum temp required by like 10% in 30 years
It’s getting better. The new gpt came along way. But not to the point where it fully understands. You need to correct it quite a bit.
Yea complete understanding is probably impossible. I asked it if there was a research evidence that supports the benefits of stretching. It started giving all these explanations for why stretching is good for you. I asked for evidence from actual studies. It gave me the studies and the results below each study. The studies said the evidence for the benefits of stretching was inconclusive. Not very intelligent. It’s really like an advanced form of Google.
You have to specify a lot to get close to what you’re looking for. Even if the first request was totally clear. It totally smokes google in its current form. But a long way to go ro call it ai
I wrote a paper on AI maybe 10 years ago and the takeaway I had was that it’s not artificial intelligence because the software has no consciousness. If you instructed AI to go to a restaurant and choose something on the menu to eat, it won’t be able to choose based on its own interests. Because it doesn’t have any. You have to give it a personality and interests. But then that’s not intelligence. That’s just like programming an NPC with a lot of information.
Also, an AI, in its current form or even in its proper form you speak of, can't own things, so it can't do economic calculation. This means it can't value things and have preferences.
They aren't stupid bro cut em some slack hahaha They're indoctrinated 😂 My take was inspired by Austrian economic thought. Need to file a petition to rename it the based school of economics. image
Yeah you’re right 😂 Economics is so interesting. I’m reading a book on relationships and the author seems to be influenced by Austrian economics although he never mentions it. He looks at relationships through the lens of economics and everything makes so much more sense.
I mean I disagree with that framing, but it's an interesting way of looking at things. Because you can transmit value without having a relationship with someone. Which is something money does. Maybe he is talking about values that aren't economic in nature. Eg: ethics and morals.
Everything not just money. A marriage is a consistent exchange of value for example. Both parties gain and lose at various times. But they remain in the relationship based on their subjective valuations of what the relationship provides. And they leave the relationship when their subjective valuations suggest they’d be better off with an alternative.
Also it doesn’t have to be a strong relationship. You still have a “relationship” with Amazon when you buy something online. You are a customer. But the relationship ends the moment the transaction is complete. But before the transaction is complete, you are determine what value this entity can provide for you. You do the same thing when you are dating. You determine what this woman can provide for you and you try to see if what you offer is something she wants. It’s all economics 😂
Ah looking at it this way could be problematic, unless there's an understanding with the other person. I think these things, like that 'understanding', can't be explained and are much deeper
A healthy relationship is formed through trust. But people stay in relationships with people they don’t trust. People live with family members that lie, cheat, and steal. So relationships can form without trust.
I think we can just agree to disagree here as I won't be able to offer you much insight here. I'm a bit young, inexperienced and have a lot to learn yet when it comes to relationships. Austrian economics is based, that's something we can agree on too 🤝
Definitely 🤝 Highly recommend you check out that book it’s helping me a lot with dating and relationships.
If you restrict them to solving only the following problem: predict precisely what you are going to do and do it... then they have always existed. Everything is a quantum computer. This may sound like a silly thing to say, but it is very close to what Google did when it claimed quantum supremacy.
This note is being ignored because devs knows the flows and have nothing to answer or can’t fix it yet
look closely at the IDOL worship of these mainstream media programmed fucking idiots that think they are hip, cutting edge and smart! you are all assholes. #christisking and you are lost sheep without him... totall subject to lies, grift, and other machinations of the devil.
"quantum" is what happens when your basic materialist reductionist theor about the electron is destroyed by the double-slit, and rather than admit that you are a dumb materialist asshole who cant grasp the mysterium tremendum of Gods creation, you just dig in deeper to your own anyichrost metaphysical delusion ... it ends in insanity - in a nursing home - doped up by the state... enjoy your short life on the outside cuz yer all-in.

I might be wrong here but quantum computer was developed after chip makers discovered the barrier required to stop an electron was getting too small (think micrometers and lesser), they could not fit as many transistors in a square milimeter as they wanted, therefore, PAF... quantum computer.

The Backwardness of Quantum Mechanics There's a famous series of experiments in which light is projected through a number of slits cut into a material. With one slit, the light projects in a relatively flat pattern believed to be consistent with the behavior of particles but not waves. With multiple slits, the lights forms an interference pattern believed to be consistent with the behavior of waves but not particles. The standard interpretation in physics is that light is both a wave and a particle. A more sound intepretation in my view is that light is NEITHER a wave nor a particle. One experiment rules out one, and the other experiment rules out the other. This is the proper scientific method, in which an experiment disproves a theory of the world we had assembled based on observation, rather than (erroneously) confirming multiple incompatible theories despite known contradictory evidence.

In what sense? QCs have existed since the 90s. But if you mean in the sense that we’re never gonna be able to break ECDSA, you might end up being right. Or maybe you mean they won’t happen in our lifetime and you might be still right. But giant leaps always happen and we shouldn’t let our guards down.
