Lugano, Sunday, August 3, 2025 – Following the act of vandalism that saw the statue dedicated to Satoshi Nakamoto, creator of Bitcoin, destroyed and thrown into Lake Ceresio by unknown individuals, a group of Lugano residents has launched a public petition on Change.org. The petition asks the City for logistical and security support to restore the artwork, which the artist has offered to recreate and provide at her own expense.
