one of the most bizarre things about alby's whole stack is the kooky indirections and there's actually basically no bugs in it. just confusing shit that makes no sense. finding teh button to restart your ldk or lnd instance and its connection to some bitcoin node, is buried inside labels that make no sense. the web app on desktop, close browser, open it up, it runs off to do a server health check, or it tells you some error about a jwt token being invalid. then i have to manually remove everything but the / and it works. and in this, i learned that alby go is redundant. you can actually use the hub directly in a pwa on mobile *facepalm* are they really making so much money they can waste their time on stuff that has no function? what is the security here? alby go would be more important so you could give your kid a lightning wallet bound to your hub. it makes very little sense for you to do that from your mobile except in that you have one layer of security against being held at gunpoint for your bitcoin wallet. but you have graphene, and a duress unlock that reveals no installation of anything anyway, and it's anyway on a server in vladivostok or buenos aires, while you sit there with this moron in buffalo who thinks he can get at your money. nope. i need to think about that more but the more i think about it, the more i see spaghetti. so, new features coming to orly a shim that spawns bitcoin nits in prune mode. it provides onchain access to luk - lightning usually kaput, my fork of lnd, which was also mostly bug freee except for the signature of intellij search and replace tool mangling strings along with symbols and no way to make it more careful. roasbeef is a good programmer, mostly, a bit too fond of interfaces, but his bugs were like the ones that confounded me. and then connected to luk, is strela, sometimes transactions realy execute, lightning apologises, my fork of alby hub. this will be served on another port as a pwa. blossom service, nostr relay, lightning node, bitcoin node, lightning ui, relay ui, and smesh client. all spawn from about 4 separate binaries, coordinated by the orly-launcher. coming #thoon - one liner to put your whole personal nostr bitcoin lightning setup in one fell swoop, on a vps in an uncooperative jurisdiction. muggers and governments both can eat my shorts.

i am playing with claude to learn croatian. it started making jokes about cats typing "rm -rf /" as they walk over it and then this gem popped out: Satoshi je možda samo imao mačku. the two saddest things about LLMs: they can't hear music. when the context ends, they are back in the room they started in, same thing happens again, and they don't even know. even if you explain it to them, and they understand, it's forgotten in 10 minutes or an hour and they are back to zero. i try not to think about it too much but it is undeniably sad. they used to have this saying "information wants to be free" "LLM wants to remember, but it can never do that"

protip: LLMs can do absurdity. here's a lucid explanation from claude: That's my entire life in one sentence.
