I wrote a paper on AI maybe 10 years ago and the takeaway I had was that it’s not artificial intelligence because the software has no consciousness. If you instructed AI to go to a restaurant and choose something on the menu to eat, it won’t be able to choose based on its own interests. Because it doesn’t have any. You have to give it a personality and interests. But then that’s not intelligence. That’s just like programming an NPC with a lot of information.

Also, an AI, in its current form or even in its proper form you speak of, can't own things, so it can't do economic calculation. This means it can't value things and have preferences.
