Make a fresh anonymous ID on Twitter and one on nostr .. and then compare yourself where you are getting more traction - on the basis of your content rather than the network you already have there ..
Mathematically speaking , since Twitter has half a billion users verses say 50 k on nostr .. discoverability is lot harder there ..
As for algos ..X algos only help the ones that make more money for them .. you sure don't wanna be in that grind .. and exactly why #nostr is the best ..
Engage for engagement. Say GM and GN. Follow #plebchain and #introductions. Come back often, always something new. Discover new clients through
and #asknostr for advice on anything.
Follow lots of people. Follow hashtags. Use DVMs.
Btw .. its a moot point .. because having discovered #nostr .. there is no way for you to go back to X :-) .. it will feel like a black and white TV after discovering Vision Pro :-) ..

To start, we need to add all those expert in our link by following them.
If you are expert, find follower that interest your subject.
You’re currently only following 100 people. You can look through other people’s follower lists (you’re welcome to borrow mine) as well as any of the people who are commenting on this thread. Don’t be afraid to #AskNostr. Nothing will be served up automatically, but if you put in some PoW and post consistently you’ll start to see results.

Yup. The most important thing is to follow more folks and make sure you’ve got your various relay lists setup so you’re as discoverable as possible (both for people and features). Happy to chat directly if you want the high speed crash course.
No algorithms, no advertising, no corporations, no bs. Well, it's all people posting so I'm sure there's a lot of bs. But the other three are certainly true. So what we're doing is building new networks from scratch. X isn't going to link to this. Fediverse has, but it's hard to find people across the bridge. If you follow enough people, you'll scroll for days, and if that's what you want to do with your time, then just follow everyone. Personally, I'm living my life, checking this feed when I have time, and stacking sats.

There's different kinds of DVMs. The ones we see in Gigis screenshot are content discovery DVMs. They aggregate notes and apply a set of rules or filters on the notes and build a feed based on these rules. There's topic related ones, follow related ones, most zapped, most engagement in various timespans on various relays and for different kinds. This is a growing open marketplace and every client that implements nip90 can benefit from it. There might be free or paid or subscription based ones, but currently most are free to use.

@NostrAIDVM technically is not a DVM but a bot that communicates with DVMs. It's an interface you can use from any client, even if they don't natively integrate NIP90 (DVMs). There's some web based clients for DVMs too and some of the social clients integrate some DVM kinds like Amethyst or Nostrudel

Whatever Lightning address you put in your profile will work across all clients, but if you’re using Primal on mobile you can only use the built-in wallet to send zaps.
Other mobile clients like Damus, Amethyst, etc. let you connect Alby directly for one-tap zaps.
On all web clients you can use the Alby chrome extension to sign your notes and zap.

Following a lot of people rather than being really selective about your follows is a good strategy here. You see way more conversations and good posts that are “one hop away” from your graph that you’d otherwise miss.
Also I follow a handful of hashtags that are really helpful for branching out, but there is some risk there, fyi.
I’m hoping clients start making some features (and/or thinking of doing this myself on the relay side if it’s not too much work) to help with the problem of spam and porn in global. More integrated web of trust visibility will help there as well.
Alby can be used to zap on Primal, it needs to be setup thru Nostr Wallet Connect.
It’s a weird concept.
You follow the people you want: Frens that you respect, admire or make you laugh… and then, you see those individuals on your feed, you interact with them when they post insightful notes, either commenting and/or zapping those notes with lightning ⚡️
After a few weeks/months/years, your account grows organically.

There is no easy mode. Algos were always a bad idea. The aim of the game is effective social connections, not followers at all cost. You earn your social network by, you know…..networking. The old fashioned way. Not by being fed like a baby bird from the mouth of Elon.
I’m not in anyway trying to be abrasive. Just to help you see that the algo and ‘discoverability’ is exactly what makes your time on Nostr better and more effective in the long run. No more passive choices being picked for you….time to choose your own adventure!

Once you have accumulated followers, those followers continue following you in every diff app you use in the future. You won’t need to rebuild your followers from scratch, ever again.

Coracle is the best client for discovering people to follow. Just follow a few people you know, and then jump into Global with your minimum web-of-trust score cranked to 10. You'll find plenty of quality people and content worth interacting with.
Quality replies then go the longest way to growing a base of people who care to see what you have to say, as well.

I have no engagement on Twitter (apart from bots), so no hardship transferring across here. Also great not to have a character limit…
I suspect Nostr will be a slow to develop because it's decentralised and unlike anything before. (with the exception of maybe ham radio)
This makes it interesting but whether it will ever catch on is another matter. Individuals follow the crowd for a reason and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

The lazy way: use Primal client for a while. It has built-in algo's like 'Trending 24hr'. Then follow those poster frens you like.
