There is no time for despair, place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal. I know the world is bruised and bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge—even wisdom. Like art. —Toni Morrison, “No Place for Self-Pity, No Room for Fear image

“It is time for the invocation: Kali, be with us. Violence, destruction, receive our homage. Help us bring darkness into light, To lift out the pain, the anger, Where it can be seen for what it is – The balance-wheel for our vulnerable, aching love.” - Mary Sarton image

Can you feel it? image There’s a kind of exhaustion that comes from holding onto something that’s already finished its job. This Wednesday’s Aquarius Full Moon has a name for it: The Unburdening. The tarot card tied to this moon is traditionally read as conflict — hollow victories, the cost of battle. But this lunation asked me to read it differently. Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t fighting harder. It’s noticing you’re still carrying something that already did what it came to do. The Sabian Symbol for this degree paints the same picture: a child being born out of an egg. The shell doesn’t crack because it failed — it cracks because it’s fulfilled its purpose. It protected something until protection was no longer the point. That’s the invitation on July 29 at 9:36am CDT, when the Moon hits full fullness at 6°30’ Aquarius, opposite the Sun at 6°30’ Leo — and it’s not arriving quietly. This Full Moon steps into one of the most extraordinary planetary configurations we’ve seen in years: Sun, Jupiter & Hygiea lighting up Leo (growth, vitality, purpose), while the Moon joins Pluto & Juno in Aquarius (transformation, commitment, the pull between our own lives and the collective story). Haumea in Scorpio opposing Chiron in Taurus completes a Grand Cross — regeneration on one side, the place healing is asking to happen on the other. Not a rejection of the past. A making-room for what’s ready to hatch. Penny Shelton
