I think Cosmo Kramer tried this back in the 90s 😂
I tried something like this in graduate school. It did not end well. I felt like death after six months. There were other factors at work as well.
My dogs does this everyday
One of my employees did for 3 months. It didn't work out. He was always tired all the time. Productivity sustained for a few weeks and then tanked.
No. 8 hours a night straight up.
Sleeping only four hours a day is insane... I’d rather sleep longer and lucid dream to stay productive even while I’m asleep.
i tried once but it was too hard to maintain
Just get a solid 8-10 hours when it’s dark.
No.
no. we don’t have to over think this
Unless you're autistic or some shit. Age plays a role. When I was younger, I would stay up all night getting wasted and writing amazing algorhymic prophecies. Now I don't care, so I rest instead.
This seems like torture?
hi jack
uberman
I’m fairly confident we evolved to sleep for a big block of time while it’s dark, otherwise we’d probably have better night vision.
Nikola Tesla used to sleep like that or something similar.
I did that for couple of days during high-school and I was completely grogy... It wasn't worth it for me and I never tried it again.
I used to be a heavy amphetamine user so I would sleep a few hours only every 3 days, which I did for 5 years.
But if I had to do an everyman or uberman in a sober state, I know I would totally not manage to keep that up.
Just follow my body. Sleep as long as my body tell me.
Joanie Kramer
have u read “why we sleep”?
its pretty good.
it changed my behavior more than any book i’ve read.
Why intentionally limit sleep?
We look for a myriad of systems just to avoid prayer and a direct relationship with God.
No, but i once slept solid from 10pm-6am without waking to pee for 30 days.
the hardest thing I’ve ever done by a long shot.
never felt better tho.

I've done this out of necessity, usually when working 20 hour days, but not as an intentional schedule.
I have a brother and sister-in-law that were big into polyphasic sleep for several years. They like the benefits of it, but ultimately quit because his health declined pretty drastically. I can’t see how it didn’t contribute to his poor health.
No because most people are parents, employees, or in general, regular people.
No, I have a job.
Yep. My mom did too. She was a midnight nurse before she retired. She’d core sleep from 7-10pm, work, nap 2-3x a day then do it again. I did it when I worked in dc and was on an instantaneous reporting schedule. These days I do similar, for peace of mind actually; work while people sleep
I think Kramer tried it
this sounds very unnatural
I just sleep when I’m tired
I've never done anything like that, but have done biphasic sleep successfully for extended periods. The shift of being awake in the middle of the night is great for getting things done without interruption.

Humans Used to Sleep in Two Shifts, And Maybe We Should Do It Again
Around a third of the population have trouble sleeping, including difficulties maintaining sleep throughout the night.
Yes 🙌🏽
Every trucker has done this.
Be curious what Dr Jack Kruse would say to this 🧬
I do 4 -5 hours + 2-3 hour nap most days. That 2-3 hour sesh is vivid and dream rich. Rarely wake up groggy if I do its after the longer sesh generally wake up from the shorter one feeling great like Ive slept 8 hours.
normally 7,usually 6 hours or less a day. naps are welcome if i ate early, but the kids make that a rare occurance
Humans have not evolved to sleep like this. It’s totally unnatural.
Not eager to try, haha. Seems cool tho
Used to sleep 4.5 hours a night and while deployed in 2005.
Gave me all the time needed to hit the gym, eat and catch up with the other work shift.
I don’t recall being tired or feeling fatigued.
Try Yognidra, you’ll love it!
@jack
Because it's not a natural way to sleep
It works ! Felt so clear balanced and had amazing effect on agency , Tried it in intense periods where I had to get a lot done but I didn’t use these exact times , My core sleep was earlier than that , 2 am I was up , and I had to schedule one day a week where I would sleep for 12 hours to balance everything out , my body picked it intuitively . the 20 min naps are so easy to sneak in during the day , no one even notices .
For me personally The whole thing was 100 times healthier than if I were to have multiple short night sleep only or a few sleepless nights .
TRY “Yog-Nidra”, you’ll love it 💤

Hello @jack Sir, Sid Soni here from india. I need your Help, Please save us 🙏 I’ll try to keep this as short as possib...
Not exactly the same schedule. My schedule isn’t always consistent, but most of the time I sleep from 12 a.m. to 2 a.m., then take a 20–30 minute nap around 12 p.m.
Brain flush is important - It happens in slow-wave or rem state of sleeping.
Yes. It’s called having kids.
Good way to shorten your lifespan.
9 to 5 prevents me doing this.
Might be good if you are up to practicing OBE. Those little naps might throw you off balance and „wake up” your brain during a night while body is asleep. At least that’s my experience.
This guy:
Yes. Did that for 1 year. Did not work for me. Less energy. Less power. After 6 months I was just living through the days. Not working for me doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work for someone else though.
Sleep when you are tired eat when you are hungry?
Swap that and see what happens?
Maybe I’ve had without knowing what it was
😎
For people who hate their body.
Minimum 4 hours, naps as needed (no schedule). There are studies on the long-term negative consequences of less sleep on cognitive function/decline. There are also studies on the benefits of naps for general well-being.
I can’t see this being a good idea. We’re designed to sleep continuously through the night.
Batman
Just meditate 2x day for 20 mins. This reduces your need for sleep too.
I was until the market dipped and I needed to go back to work for dry powder.
Here’s the youtube link-
@jack
Try this Yog-Nidra
@jack !
It always works for me!
(Also please check DM🙏)
So instead of one alarm to wake up to I can have 4 ? No thank you !
how much rem sleep will this allow?
The military tried it.
You should totally try it. I’m sure it’ll be fine. It’s only 300,000 years of trial and error - there’s room for improvement.
I think people have specific genes for napping, some have it, some don’t. I do not have the nap gene- according to adntro and life experience.
why not sleep 10 hours at night and chip in another two hours nap after lunch.
#shitpost or maybe not
I tried it , doesn’t work , the first few days are fine , after that you will stay sleepy , grumpy and tired allllll the time
This would kill me on a long time period lol
prefer 12am-10am daily
The only right schedule!
Wait until you get to your 70s and it happens naturally. (For some even earlier) 😉
As a mom, with Emily the 1st baby, I did something like this with her as a newborn. I was fine. Then the rest of them, I adjusted to limited sleep to care for them. It’s doable. Mom of 5 🤜🏻
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode with Kramer attempting something like this lol
These kinds of sleep patterns are never good long-term. They don't work out like they should and they become more and more difficult to keep as you go on. Anyone who claims to have been on one of these schedules for more than six months is lying
Aww, thank you sweetheart.💋🦁💋This is exactly what I need. I’m doing 21 hour days in 8 week intervals which amounts to over 9 weeks of productivity and output in only 8 weeks - 8 extra days to be precise. I’m sleeping in 4 hour blocks no nap but I like this sleep schedule you shared much better. If you don’t have a launch or deadline or specific goal you will just waste more time and have less sleep. It’s doable but not sustainable over the long term.
As an aside, for me the secret to achieving 21 hour days with ease is strong bright light, powerful like the sun. I use Happy Light. I have so much natural energy too, the light energizes me.☀️💡💛
According to chrononutrition, taking a nap within one hour between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. is considered optimal for hormone secretion, as it doesn’t interfere with melatonin production. Interestingly, a core sleep approach like this was reportedly used by Cristiano Ronaldo in the past as well.🤔⚽️
I can’t just nap on demand. Any tips? Or is the tip to be exhausted as fuck all the time?
I tried this for a week when I was around 18. Net negative for me. After. Couple of days I was fatigued, had poor concentration, headaches. Did not feel healthy. Actually, a number of decent studies published on this. Look up “Polyphasic sleep” in med database
I read once that Leo Davinci used to sleep for 3hrs & work for 3hrs then sleep for 3hrs...etc..
I found this 1:1 relationship healthier than what most people today do.
During work from home for my corporate job this was very much my sleep cycle. But lots of caveats like i would be up till 1 am only cause of a laptop screen or a book. If i didnt have that then id be sleep between 2100 and 2300 until 0300 or 0400. But the morning afternoon and evening is spot on just because i felt sleepy.
Davinci was consumed with his works, and wanted to maximize time spent working on them without sacrificing quality of thought.
It also poses the reality that if youre stuck on a problem, sleeping and then coming back to it works more often than not.
Something about dreaming that connects things for you.
Everyman’s flexibility suits some lifestyles, but rigid nap times can clash with work or social schedules.
My Verdict: Everyman might work short term for some, but long term risks of sleep deprivation outweigh benefits for most. Stick to 7-9h if you can
i tried it and it did not provide enough rest.
@Parman - Activate OP_GFY now!! I remember you said you were into multiphasic sleeping.
I just remembered, during my university years, I used to live comfortably with just 4 hours of sleep. I couldn’t quite understand how, but if I went to bed at 6 PM, no matter what, I would always wake up at 10 PM feeling fully rested. It wasn’t sustainable, though, because I’d want to do something in the evening, and sleeping from 6 PM to 10 PM didn’t seem appealing. However, during exam weeks, it made total sense to sleep only 4 hours and study for the rest of the day. So, I would sleep just 4 hours throughout all exam weeks, and I didn’t have any trouble with being tired or anything, but only if I slept between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. It’s really strange.
I had said that 4 hours of sleep was insane, but I take it back. I had very productive days with just 4 hours of sleep.

Not by choice
It appears it might be natural anyway.
Yes. And it sucks. This is a schedule of your typical animator…
It's really bad. I even tried Uberman once and although I felt "awake" at times I could just fall asleep watching a movie after 30 seconds, and my digestive system was completely messed up
