Lesson learned.

People are obsessed with their sense of superiority more than the desire to progress together. They’d rather reach a lower bar alone than rise to a higher one together. Crabs in a bucket.

It’s amazing how people will spit on even good will just to feel better than you. Pathetic.

Breaking systems into parts and feedback loops is a great way of thinking that pervades all fields.

Fractured Consensus is a good way to describe specs on nostr. Not everything is interoperable across nostr apps but some parts are.

Privacy, uncensored speech, the freedom to transact, and ownership of property -- whether digital or physical -- are the foundations upon which freedom is maintained.

Lately I've been realizing one of the best ways to not drift from being humble is to remember that at anytime, anything could happen. No matter how smart you are, you can only make decisions as well as you can and then you watch reality unfold. You can't truly control reality. You just raise your chances of impacting it the way you want to before it changes so much that it's out of your control.

Being fueled by competition is a shallow form of drive compared to necessity, the real mother of invention. If you’re focused on beating the competition, then you’ve lost touch with the primordial creative force — the bar should be set by your standards, not others. Competition shouldn’t shape your craft, your real needs should. Comparison can be the thief of creativity.

Removing reposts from default profile view and reducing their visibility in the For You is so whack. Feels like Instagram now. Almost all major social media platforms copy and converge on such similar feature sets, just give it enough time.

Adding an author field to highlights would be cool, that way I don’t have to click on the link to see who it is from.

X has removed reposts from profiles on mobile. The algorithm’s control became stronger after the visibility boost on reposts declined, now they’ve taken it one step further. It seems like X only wants you to see what their algorithm promotes, not what people propagate.
