Also the mentality — “thats how we like it” sounds like meangirls but instead incels. Nostr is for all types of people etc — its not made for one cult.

Just someone who thinks the network should dictate the tone of how we should we communicate.

He explored all of nostr in 3 days, something none of us has managed to do for several years …
People who say this like its a bad thing don't understand how to bootstrap networks. 100,000 users on a network talking about 100,000 different topics dies in a matter of days, because there's literally nobody to talk to about *your* topic and no cohesion at all in the network. 100,000 users in one community is a solid network. Look at every successful network in history, it *always* starts with an atomic, self sustaining network around a single community or purpose. - Amazon. Only sold books. - Uber, Lyft, and pretty much any rideshare service. All got a critical mass in ONE city before expanding. - Airbnb. Started exclusively and got success in San Francisco. - Napster. Started with almost exclusively music - Facebook. Exclusively Harvard students - Twitch.tv started as just one guy streaming his life and then targeted gamers. - Pinterest, focused entirely on "mom-bloggers" This list goes on and on. What he is describing is literally *the only way alternative networks are ever successful.* So contrary to the idea that this is bad, it's actually the only reason Nostr is still here. Because you can find most of the best bitcoiners, tons of great holistic lifestyle content, and cypherpunks wanting to build awesome shit. That's actually a fantastic start and we should LEAN INTO THIS MORE, not steer away from it. We do so at our own detriment if we just complain about and fail to embrace the community we DO have. - Tinder. Literally grew itself locally one frat and sorority party at a time. View quoted note →
It's crazy that "grass fed beef" is even a term. That's literally just normal beef. But in USA your language is all back the front. What you call "normal beef" is illegal here, the closest thing we have to it is "feedlot beef" And what you call grass fed beef, the rest of us just call that beef.

Q: anyone here self identify as nosepicking ralph from the simpsons ~and~ want to use the original post as an opportunity to tweet a non sequitur disparaging single ladies? A: there are so many beautiful people here on nostr, but only loud ugly boyz would do such a thing

I don’t think Nostr lacks normies as much as I believe it lacks the variety in opinions. I do believe Nostr is actually too homogeneous.
The grass is always greener where you water it. If their unconscious incentive structure aligns even slightly with mainstream media, they will use mainstream social-media to talk about mainstream ideas. If you alight yourself with uncommon incentives which help everyone unilaterally. You end up discussing helpful ideas and curating the community you’ve always wanted

Family, Health, Bitcoin, Steaks, Sport - what a wonderful world 🧡
I think there's enough normies already, but it's true most people here only talk about Bitcoin or Nostr.

Yes. He’s right and it’s awesome!
Plenty of artists, travelers, non-bitcoin philosophers or cooking enthusiasts out there to follow. So his experience is kinda on him, imho. Which non-bitcoiner have you 🤙-ed today, #nostr?

Think of it as enrichment , having Nostr and X in the same time .

To some (much) extent, yes. But some devs would tell you that Nostr isn’t ready for prime time yet. So, no normies and a focused ideology is just fine.

Would you say the same if the user had spent months on Nostr, interacting daily, building network and community and ended up leaving for pretty much those reasons?

I try to do some shiposts at least. Aint be much, but it's honest work 🫡
Because people here gravitate towards truth or at least trying to figure it out. Once you have a few accurate reference points other things fall into place.
He is a butthurt OP. I mean look at his name….. what else did you expect from a redditor that calls himself a pleb

Stained glass artist here 🙋‍♂️ non-bitcoin/bro content, I mainly post about my art and my progression with it 🙌🏻
there should be a “follow friday” type of thing for people who are ‘normal in a good way’. Normal as in well-rounded, balanced, personal/authentic posting style. Cuz I find the description of the “ideologically homogenous” posts to be true and tiring.
He is upset that bitcoin influencers like Michael Saylor, David Bailey and Jack Mallers are pumping their company share prices lol
