I think a lot of people on nostr agree with you, but you are mistaken. Sports is the last bastion of meritocracy in society where excellence and greatness are rewarded. In almost all other human endeavors politics and marketing plays a huge part, but in sports, it’s about greatness, and the price for greatness is devotion to craft at a level people in other domains could only dream of.

The problem with football is the object isn't self explanatory.
Soccer, Hockey, golf, basketball are all very simple: THROW BALL IN HOLE.
Baseball is a little more complicated: HIT BALL AND RUN TO SAFE SQUARE.
Football is not like any of these because it involves physical contact, and "downs" and "rushing" and "passing" and clocks... But in the end the point of the game is: CARRY BALL PAST OTHER GUYS
Once I realized this in my 30s, I could actually tolerate the game enough to figure the rest of it out and begin enjoying it.
I still don't watch sports unless my kids are playing.

Depends -- Raiders-Patriots have some great, exciting rookie backs I want to see, but Bills-Ravens (night game) are the best teams. I have them on all at once, probably will focus on the Giants as that’s my team.

Yes, generally speaking, #nostr and #bitcoin is an awakening that exposes the bread and circus smoke and mirrors distraction that is manufactured to keep the masses ignorant. An enlightenment journey of truth, freedom and sovereignty.
In college, Philosophy 101 caused a crisis of faith that led to me stepping back from the religious tradition in which my family had raised me.
I explicitly remember thinking to myself that I needed to find SOME way of keeping myself distracted from “the big questions” or else those big questions would constantly weigh upon my mind.
So, I picked up fantasy sports. There was always a pro sport going on that I could focus upon instead of wrestling with questions I didn’t know how to deal with.
After the events of 9/12/2018, my focus on professional and fantasy sports dissipated like a fart in the wind. Now I intentionally focus upon those “big questions” and I am finding answers.

That's too bad. Sports are the 21st Century gladiator. Individuals who work their asses off to become the best. People who take risks.. People who lose sometimes because of the risks they take. Maybe not watching sports is because the idea of an individual excelling in something goes against the hive mentality of Communism. Maybe we should all realize those athletes are the ones to emulate. Work hard and you'll succeed and make society a better place at the same time.

blacks claim the achievements of anybody with a single drop of black blood. no Asians claim achievements of Tiger woods ( even though he is mostly Asian ) and no whites claim achievements of Obama who is genetically half white and raised by white grandparents, making him more than 50% white.
Serena Williams is one of the very few black athletes successful outside of designated black sports ... and her husband is white as snow.
Race mixing is a good thing when done right. I support Serena Williams or Candace Owens having white husbands. Truly exceptional blacks should be allowed to contribute their DNA to the human race, which doesn't change the fact that Blacks are animals.
