i am thinking if you're going to do dopamine fasting you should also do strategic decompressing which would basically be like a cheat day on a diet BUT YOU ONLY DO THIS AFTER COMPLETING A MAJOR TASK so for example i spent a week and a half packing, driving then unpacking and flying back which was fairly focused ( by my standards ) effort so when i got back i started decompressing first thing i did was sleep for as long as i wanted after a week of living by alarm clock i finally slept till noon then i went on a social media binge scrolling unapologetically without telling myself i will stop in a few minutes - instead planning to do it for as long as it takes to get bored even if it's two days straight ... only after i get it completely out of my system will i begin the second phase of the move essentially sometimes you're on the clock and sometimes you're not. i was on the clock while i was renting a vehicle - first a Penske ( $500 / day ) then a BMW ( $100 / day ) so i had to make those days count ... but now i have to fully recover before i do it again so i will have the psychological endurance to not burn out.
