There is nothing that inherently saved you by rolling dice. You still didn’t verify and the bug could’ve just as easily been in that code.

Food for thought: What if this attack isn’t over? What if it goes on for months? How many devices were sold and how likely is it that the majority of users even know? Right now there is no metric or way to know if we are at the beginning or the end.

At a minimum there needs to be a thorough investigation. I’m talking warrants for devices and multi-hour interrogations. Anyone with a shred of credibility who was involved should cooperate with law enforcement to their fullest ability.
