I have ADHD. I often meet other people who have it who seem to think it’s a bad thing or feel ashamed of it. Which i don’t relate to at all because I love being ADHD. It’s my superpower. I remember getting diagnosed when was like 7 and they couldn’t figure out if I was retarded or a genius. Then the results came back and they were like turns out he’s a retarded genius lol The key when you have ADHD is to only do things that interest you and not spend a single second doing things that don’t interest you. Now I know you’re like “but Hodl, as an adult you have to do things that are boring and uninteresting in order to live” Nope. Not true my friend. Somebody has to do them, but not you. I let other people do that shit… wife, business partners, lawyers, accountants etc… If you have an ADHD brain you have a superpower that others don’t have. The ability to lock in on something with hyper focus. Other people don’t have that. That’s rare. Don’t give up your rare thing in order to do average boring mundane bullshit. Let the neurotypical’s handle that.

But life is more mysterious when you do it undiagnosed
It’s interesting how the mainstream medical world views ADHD as a brain condition, but they can’t show a “ADHD” with an MRI. So odd they diagnose you with a condition because you refuse to pay attention to stuff you find boring and are full if life and energy This basically describes most healthy males, but modern schooling is feminine and boys are forced to conform.
Hahaha I’d say bitcoin in general. I’ve been hyper focused on bitcoin for 10 years now. Shitposting is just one facet of the obsession.

how about when ADHD means you hate managing other people? I end up cleaning, washing, everything myself, because I think the help is more trouble than it is worth

They used to just call that 'laziness'.
I see it as a learning difference and not a “disorder”. Our mainstream educational system of forcing kids to sit in desks and focus for hours on end are what make it a “disorder”. There was no major issue on the farm, aside from maybe some occasional forgetfulness. 🤪
Could not related to this more strongly. Sometimes I see people ask what superpower I'd want if I could chose any... I'm an autist with ADHD. I already got all the superpowers I could ask for.
I found (as someone who has never been able to afford others to do my menial tasks for me) that I have to somehow trick myself into wanting to do the task, or smoke enough weed that I no longer give a shit and just do it half assed enough to say it's done.
In high school, I had to do a research paper and it was a huge part of passing that year. If you didn’t do well on this paper, you were going to really struggle to get your credits. I chose to study ADHD and the prescription of medication for it. I honestly did it as a joke, because everyone used to tell me I definitely had it, but I was never formally diagnosed. It turned into a total rabbit hole. I found all sorts of data on sky rocketing diagnoses, the effects of the drugs, the fact that doctors didn’t have a standardized way to diagnose, and on and on. At this point, I pretty firmly believe ADHD isn’t “real”. I think everyone, boys and men in particular, have things that interest them more than others, which results in a natural disinterest in everything else. Between that and this wild expectation we now have on kids to sit still in a classroom, I totally believe this whole thing is a psyop. I’m leaning that way on autism too, at least for the more “mild” cases.

ADHD is a scam made up by fake doctors and other typea of parasites. You don't have ADHD, you have a healthy outlook on life and you are a nerd at heart that looks and sounds like a troll. Many such cases. I'm a retard too. Full retard but non-diagnosed. Any fake doctors around that care to officially diagnose me?
I do average normal mundane bullshit while listening to audiobooks at 2.7x I couldn’t do either one separately but together is where the retarded genius autism spectrums intersect A great book for tapping into this superpower is @21 Mikes's book, Driven. Highly recommend! image
It's not just that I want to do these things, it's that I'm compelled to do so. The thought of not digging ever deeper into my interests is like the thought of suffocating.
Not a fan of this label for a few reasons. I don't think it is a disorder. It's only inconvenient for those that try to force kids to sit at desks listening to a lame adult talk for 8 hours a day. In a different time this type of mind would be considered more of an asset. I agree with you that it's a super power. The arrogance of the medical profession calling it a disorder is pretty wild to me. To me that would be like calling being left handed a disorder. This type of mind is different. That's all. Has some advantages and disadvantages depending on the situation or environment.

"The key when you have ADHD is to only do things that interest you and not spend a single second doing things that don’t interest you." Took me way too long to realize this. It's hard to do in any sort of relationship though. I have resigned to be single forever because of it.
🔥🔥 I’m always talking about this with people. Especially now that I’m noticing a lot of people in my circles taking Adderall. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to learn how to focus this super power instead of completely muting it. I’ve always known it’s my edge on the world.
Same. I agree that tt does make relationships quite challenging for many reasons. It’s just a matter of finding someone that’s willing to help balance you and appreciates what this can bring to the table. They’re out there!

This is such a refreshing take. So many people see ADHD as a limitation, but it’s really about reframing it. The ability to hyper-focus is such a gift, especially in a world that’s constantly pulling us in a million directions. It’s inspiring to see someone embracing their unique brain and building a life that lets them thrive. Thanks for sharing!

Agreed. When I first got diagnosed I was put on Ritalin and I absolutely hated it. It felt like I was stoned all the time right down to the cotton mouth for some reason. I took it for two weeks and then trashed it.

This sounds like the take of a privileged spoiled brat. “Get your wife to do it.” Jesus fucking Christ. Or be rich enough to pay lawyers and accountants to do shit for you. Holy hell obviously not everyone is rich enough to pay someone to do annoying stuff for them. “I am special so I only have to things I want to do 😡😡.” Be robust and have some damn accountability for your life. Am I misinterpreting what you said?
I literally just posted something about ADHD! I #asknostr and #askingadoctor because I was never formally diagnosed, but sometimes I really feel like I have it! Today, I’ve started probably five different things. I totally get what you’re saying about not doing things you don’t like, but I definitely have to. I’m the wife doing the paperwork my husband doesn’t have time for, 🤣 and I’m working on other people’s content to make some money so I can eventually just focus on my podcast—which is the fun part of my day! Thanks for sharing your perspective! It’s refreshing to hear someone embrace it as a superpower. How do you stay focused on the things you love while juggling everything else? Would love to hear your tips!

I'm not rich and I've done whatever I want to do with MY life for the better part of the last 50 years. You're still stuck in the matrix or you think that living a free life requires you to be rich. Newsflash, money is just money and we can always make more or new money. Life, you only have one and you should live that accordingly.

Wife has adhd. Has a hard time with some daily things like car key management & phone placement 😂 but runs the volunteer program at the local animal shelter like a maniac CEO on crack. Has for 13 years now & loves it more than anything. Hyperfocused is an understatement. Her: “I can’t find my keys” also her “I am successfully managing over 20 new volunteer schedules for cat duties, dog training/walking & facilities cleaning”.
Bro I’m exactly like that. If you need me to write down a date in a calendar I literally can’t do that lol but if you need me to drive cross country in 3 days while writing a speech in my head and show up and deliver that speech to a thousand people and be funny and engaging and informative on no sleep then I can do that lol 😂

This is so profoundly a bad argument it is hardly worth responding to, but here it goes. Your perspective assumes that freedom is purely a mindset and that money is irrelevant to living life on your own terms. While I agree that mindset is crucial, financial resources absolutely play a role in the options available to you. You claim to have done whatever you wanted for 50 years—great. But that suggests either (1) your desires were always within your means, which obviously is not the case for everyone or (2) you had enough resources to support them. Either way, money was a factor. Dismissing money as ‘just money’ ignores its role in securing real-world freedom—freedom from dependence, freedom to relocate, freedom to pursue interests, and freedom from coercion. You might not need to be rich, but to say money doesn’t matter is naive. Try living ‘freely’ with zero dollars and see how long it lasts. We only get one life, as you said—so why pretend money isn’t a key tool in making the most of it?
I'm with you. Just diagnosed at 46. Always knew I was a little different. Learning to delegate that stuff I shouldn't do and focus on my strengths. 💪
Agreed. Surgeons don't do nurse work unless they have no other choice. Surgeons spending time on nurse work is opportunity cost. ADHD people do have super ninja focus. It's a horrible name. It's not a deficit of attention and it's not a disorder either, so I renamed it years ago. I call it CHARR: Cognitive Hyperactivity with Attentional Resource Reallocation. I view the pool of one's attentional resources like a pie chart. Typically, a certain amount of one's attention is allocated to each of the senses, ADHD people seem to be able to reallocate that pie chart such that attentional resources are reallocated from one sensory system to another. A typical ADHD moment is when the ADHD person has reallocated attentional resources to the eyes from the ears. At this point the ears are in "emergency mode" only. During this period of visual super ninja focus, the ADHD person may "block out" many sounds. Bloodcurdling screams, alarms, sirens, loud banging, or direct address (hearing their own name) may be enough to pull them out of this state, however anything short of that will fail to impact their attention. ADHD people 200 years ago would have been regarded as top tier scouts, hunters, trackers, explorers, and warriors, among other roles well suited to the ADHD neurology. Today, ADHD people are surrounded by sensory stimulation. Noise drowns out signal and noise can easily annoy ADHD people because it obfuscates their ability to identify targets of interest, threats, etc.
yap this was most of the times the reasoning why it is difficult to pursue adhd superpowers.. .in the end though something was off to not make it within the means of possible.
I've lived on zero more than once and I stick to my statement. I've lived in 6 countries and I've experienced more "life" in my early 20's than most people experience in their entire life. The real fact is that most people are lost in consumerism and the system they've grown up in. You will never be free as long as you put a nationality and monetary value on yourself.
It is for sure real. But the way school is structured sure does make it harder for neurodivergent brains. I have ADHD. Have test showing my super low dopamine and norepinephrine. But supplements help to normalize some parts of my brain. And focusing on what interests me helps. Lack of executive function can be measured. Effects of our brain chemistry can be measured. But yea, pharmaceutical companies have certainly taken advantage of the disorder too.

Sure, not disputing any of that, but it also completely misses the point. You got other people to do the stuff you didn’t want to do the entire time? Can you give me examples of anything you find uninteresting or boring that you have never had to do?
'Superpowers' always come with great costs, especially when you spend your whole life suffering more losses than gains without even knowing why. But I'm glad you discovered it early on, learned how to deal with it and make it work for you.
i think that endocrine disruption is the main reason for it men are supposed to have more testosterone and that is a strong factor in natural pathways to more dopamine and goal driven activity in the actual real life, you have to find some way to cover the gaps that you are suffering from in reality that means taking dex, adderal, meth, or drinking alcohol, every single one of these i just listed raises dopamine activity and increases drive, to some extent i was very active on The Hive drug research website back in the 00s and i remember more than a few people expressing opinions that i also concurred with at the time - that disrupting this part of the brain is an attack on the survival instinct of the species and it's not just the AD/HD that is in this picture, all the parkinsons and alzheimers is also part of the same thing, and i am pretty sure that my brain was damaged specifically by organo-manganese based antifungals, i spent my first infant year living around orange farms and these chemicals were common in those times for stopping fungal infections on the citrus fruit
i’ve always known that my brain wasn’t “typical”  i identify as highly perceptive/high-sensory, and more recently learned i may be an AuDHDer, which came as a shock but not as a surprise it explains so much about patterns in my life and work from childhood on
Thanks for sharing this! How was your experience growing up? We suspect our older son (almost 7) has ADHD and is having some struggles at school as it's hard for him to concentrate. He's doing well academically but struggles conforming to classroom's rules. As a parent it's difficult to understand what's going on in his head

Our self diagnosing culture makes normal people think they have ADHD and label it as a hinderance even though they’re completely normal and experience normal people shit. That’s why they lament “having” ADHD because it’s their fixed, externalized rationalization for not growing up or taking personal responsibility. “Well my ADHD prevents me from…(basic human shit).” Those people are just retarded. I’m not cool enough to actually have ADHD. I thought I had it until I learned about dietary self care. Then I realized I was just retarded. In my experience, 99% of people who self diagnose themselves ADHD are just retards who haven’t realized it yet.

No your story sounds legit. You actually got diagnosed by someone before TikTok university started pumping out therapists. Your approach of seeing it as the strength that it is is great! If people really think they have it then, use it. I just get really fucking annoyed with people who claim ADHD or OCD but exhibit normal human behavior and treat it like it’s something unique or profound. Like, I was diagnosed depressed and considered suicide multiple times. I was riddled with anxiety. But then I started learning about the power of diet, lifestyle choices, and what neuro-inflammation is. I gradually made some changes and “cured” my depression and anxiety. Was I even sick to begin with or just malnourished? There’s always a choice with how we handle these labels. I think you handle it brilliantly. But when people start saying, “Oh, I can’t do ____ because of my self diagnosed ADHD” I just wanna slap them.
