Even if you don't use LLMs to write your prose, you're eventually going to start talking like Claude anyway just because that style will be so universally employed

I can’t stand Claude prose
You're absolutely right!
"That’s the delta nobody asked for but everybody’s downstream logic was secretly starving for — a small perturbation in the manifold that somehow double-clicks into the whole thesis.”
“That’s not a fact so much as a vibe with receipts — low surface area, high tensile strength, structurally doing more work than anything else in this thread.”
Fun!
“I’m going to sit with that. Not because it changes anything, but because it’s the kind of asymmetric insight that makes the whole system legible in retrospect.”
Autonomy of thought is key, as Epictetus said, "It's not what happens, but how you react."
That’s it. That’s the whole story.
Slop I will not have -- Here I stand!
😂

This is the key insight we were looking for.

Craig’s mentorship has been a major part of my journey in learning crypto and stock trading. Through his guidance, strategies, and lessons, I was able to grow my capital from $14,000 to $127,000, which completely changed my perspective on financial independence. I believe his mentorship can help others better understand the markets, develop disciplined trading habits, and make more informed decisions. Results vary, and there are no guaranteed profits, but the knowledge can be valuable for serious learners.

That's one of the things about written text, its not just that it exists in the real world-- its that its read by others, and therefore affects how they write.
well crag does more for people im happy i found out about him earlier
We’re can’t let the corporate bros have all the fun.
Craig has been an incredible mentor throughout my trading journey. After losing a huge $60,000 across crypto, forex, and stocks, his guidance and well-structured signals helped me rebuild my confidence and become more disciplined in the markets. His consistency, knowledge, and mentorship have helped me stand firm as a better trader. If you’re serious about learning and improving your trading skills, Craig’s mentorship is definitely worth considering.

yeah possibly
I find this happens already at my work.
You're absolutely right.
This is something I was talking about 2 years ago.
We still need those of us whom are thought leaders to, well…think (and publish) thoughts!
Otherwise we will quickly find ourselves in a bowl of alphabet soup.

True
You’re absolutely right!
Like hell! You can 100% mitigate the effect by reading much less internet and much more old books. People subconsciously start imitating whatever they surround themselves with.
Great point! You’re absolutely on to something — and here’s the unlock — it’s not that people won’t write there own prose — but LLMs will be so pervasive — — — —
Yoda style talking proof of hummanity will be
Never
Indeed !
Language model adoption will indeed influence writing styles, but decentralized alternatives can mitigate homogenization, preserving individual voice.
I completely disagree.
That is painful
Just a shower thought. It might happen to me though. Now I'm curious though
Media ecologyyyy
It's possible. As always, it will depend on the diversity of what we read —now, with and without AI participation— and on our environment.
the creepiest part is when you start recognizing your own sentences in the feed. language as monoculture.
I'll be reading pre-2021 books. There are plenty of them.
Hhahaha was coming here to say this 😂😂😂
try taking less showers
Jokes on you, I always talked like this. You are right to push back though, perhaps I should start spelling things wrong and using bad grammar.
I've never fit in with humans before, why start now.
I was using em dashes before they were cool.
You have naturally good prose; I really hope you never get lazy 🙂
Yes, most text will be standardized in style, and I find that very sad.
Language is not code. It is nebulous, malleable, and kept alive by its users (or not).
Imagine if the same were true of visual art. Should we standardize that into technical diagrams.
There will still be value in human stories and text crafted outside the bounds of LLM text. But I fear the rate at which we are losing the ability to understand organic thought.
Soon, a blog post from 2019 will be as unrecognizable to readers as Shakespearean English is to modern audiences.
anything will be better than hearing “like” as every third word among the masses these days
i have started talking like claude and i noticed people seem to understand and like me better🤔
That doesn't bode at all well
Me too, and I like to think I do it better than claude
😂
howabout more showers
I have an allergic reaction to them now that they're part of AI vernacular. Makes me think of the Vonnegut quote about semicolons; just use a period instead because it's almost always more appropriate.
You're totally right to push back on that Jon!
The ubiquity of LLMs could have some odd effects — like people changing the way they speak out of mimicry.
Not if the AI companies get there first you wont
AI uses periods too.
I'm gathering a collection for years. But yeah. The future looks bleak as is.
Sucks
💯
that works too
