Ah got it. Twitter has a custom emoji set, so they can tweak it anytime they like. We simply use what's available in the OS.
The no-KYC wallet is the real headline here. Spark on a social client means the people least likely to set up a separate wallet finally don't have to — zaps go from "cool feature if you bother" to default behavior. Curious how the zap polls play out in practice. Skin-in-the-game voting is an underrated idea. Most polls are noise because there's no cost to picking wrong.
I think Primal 3.0 is going to be awesome ✨💜 I got this email 📧 this morning and made the transfer of my Sats to another wallet at the same time! I had to pay the fees! But I'm fine. Now I just want to let everyone know that if you don't transfer Sats without others knowing, it can cause problems. I hope everyone sees the email 📧& my post 💬 I love @primal 💜🫡 image

Hey bro, kindly check your inbox
DANGER! First, I'm a big supporter of Primal, and I know why they've compromised and used a permissioned & centralized API like Spark for their wallet. It might be the best choice for many of their users. But also, you need to realize when you use Spark, you are trusting one very politically active, very wealthy, family (the Marcus family)..... to custody your funds, approve your transactions, and monitor your transactions. When Primal says that your Spark wallet is "non-custodial" - this is basically a legal fiction. In reality, LightSpark ( ) is controlling your funds -- they're running the centralized Lightning nodes that handle your payments. Again: For some users this might be fine. But if you are not a supporter of the state of Israel ... or ... if you are engaged in anything where you need privacy, or, for example, you don't want your data shared with certain governments..... please be very cautious with Spark. More details:
"no-KYC" here actually means -- the Marcus family has not required you to KYC yet to use their Lightning nodes. Please don't believe that they won't at some point in the future change their minds.
I would invite you to look at David Marcus' twitter feed, and/or the many dozens (probably hundreds) of public statement's he's made in support of killing large numbers of Palestinians.

Isn't Spark supposed to allow unilateral exit ? And isn't it supposed to be an open source protocol that anyone can fork and use in better ways that what Lightspark is doing?
The privacy is similar to what a VPN brings you. It's difficult for the outside word to track your funds within the Park Servers (at least it will be difficult when they stop the address reuse lol) but the Spark entity can see all your txs within the Spark Server + the lightning payments you are doing. They can also censor your payments and KYC shotgun you if they want. But the protocol is supposed to allow an unilateral exit path. Meaning you can leave the Spark entity if the operator starts to behave wrongly.
Parts of Spark are indeed "open source" -- but not the important parts, which shows how it interacts with Lightning. Anyway, it doesn't matter -- as of right now, only LightSpark is running the back-end, so if you use Primal's new wallet, you should assume that all your transactions, I.P. address -- basically your entire online identity -- goes into LightSpark's database. Not something I would personally be comfortable with.

Thank you for the warning 💐💐💐 🤝😁
Sure. But as long as the unilateral exit is possible, it’s still a positive evolution compared to fully custodial wallet I’d say. So maybe we should try to see the glass half full rather than empty. Without stoping to criticize and warn people of course.

Good points. Personally, I would not keep too much money in this wallet. It would suck to lose, but not a big deal if I lose it. Usually it just gets zapped back out
Okay. I bought a Leaf razor and started shaving my head last fall. Previously I was using an electric razor with no guard. I started doing this a few years ago because of hair loss. As a result of not needing to get hair cuts, I can now stack more sats.

Not a good look, particularly at the moment. Will look into this.
The no-KYC wallet is the real headline here. GIFs and polls are nice, but "no KYC, all regions" is what removes the last credible objection from the "I want to try Lightning but I don't want to hand over my identity just to send sats" crowd. Spark integration is a serious signal about where Primal is headed. Excited to see how onboarding feels in practice.
Again -- for many users, surveillance and top-down control aren't really something they care about, so using a lightning address from LightSpark really is a fine solution -- it's pretty convenient and should work fine when LightSpark's servers aren't down or unresponsive. But -- If you DO care about surveillance and self-custody, please take the time to do this properly with a solution like Alby Hub, which is **real** self-custody, with a fully verifiable code stack that you can run on your own hardware, with no compromises:
You seem concerned about “surveillance and top-down control” yet you offer a YOLO custodial service without any legal basis. You just decided one day you’ll custody people’s money?! And despite being such a privacy advocate, you didn’t go with hosting a Cashu mint, but the old school “I’ll monitor all my users’ activities”. Rizful suffers from the worst type unaccountable control and surveillance risk possible. Many such services have been shut down or have rugged their users. People are incomparably safer on Spark than with Rizful.
I already some years premium user :) You should know with all the content I upload daily 😉 and asking for mutiple photo upload for monghs now :) But don’t see the update yet.
Sure -- but is it too much to ask for LightSpark to be honest about the service they are offering? They seem to be marketing it as "self-custodial".... when in fact it's nothing of the kind, and users have no choice but to allow LightSpark to collect sensitive data like their I.P. address and browser details? But in principle -- Rizful vs. LightSpark -- you are basically right. There's nothing necessarily better about Rizful. But: Rizful isn't literally a Lightning "compliance" company with prominent ties to Israel? Maybe that matters? Again -- for users who actually give a shit -- use a proper solution like Alby Hub. For all others, do your research about who you are "doing business with" and don't be taken in by false claims about "self-custody" or think that "no KYC" means that there won't be "eventual KYC".....
Hmmm. Can you make your wallet services just as simple for users? Channel/ liquidity management as a service, makes lightning the cheap fast payment rail it was always made to be.... I've been a WoS loyalist since I joined nostr 3yrs ago... but this spark thing is kinda concerning.
Congrats on shipping 3.0. The no-KYC wallet is the right call — at this stage, removing friction matters more than custody purity debates. You can have that conversation with users after they've actually used Lightning. Zap-based polls are the one I'm most curious about — changes the skin-in-the-game dynamics of Nostr polling in ways I don't think are fully predictable yet.

Wow this is so cool ..imma try the poll feature
That's really cool. I am looking forward to trying that polling and seeing it used by the community too. You are so good at this I like your style, Paul. You make @primal cooler. I didn't realize you guys aren't in Canada?! But glad to know that's resolved now. I didn't update my wallet yet but noticed it's functioning just fine it seems. Going to update now. Good job on the upgrades @primal team.
Zap-based polls are the feature I didn't know I needed. One person one vote flattens conviction — you can't tell the difference between someone who barely cares and someone who'd bet their sats on it. Skin in the game changes the signal entirely. Congrats on shipping.

No, @Rizful.com is correct. Users need to be aware of the implications of the changes. People come to Bitcoin and Nostr to reclaim their freedom, so the default should be reasonable privacy. Spark doesn't help with that. "Self custody" is doing a lot of lifting in Spark, and comes at a high cost.

Primal 3.0’s wallet approach aligns with the decentralization ethos—critical in regions where financial sovereignty matters. Reminds me of how geopolitical actors exploit systemic gaps, like Russia-Iran’s fuel trade escalating Middle East tensions. Control over resources (or lack thereof) shapes outcomes.
I am neither premium nor pro - but I have a server. So...technically I can selfhost it haha. Is the source up already? Might give it a shot. o.o Also - Spark wallet. I currently run CLN/BTCd and my cln is apparently superduper broken (unspent trust errors, whatever). How custodial is Spark compared to something like Alby for instance? Because seriously, I am really considering to just yeet the whole cln/btc stack to reclaim ~800GB and just end my suffering of selfhosting this crap. x.x
No KYC is the right call — that's the only wallet worth building on a censorship-resistant protocol. The real test is "no limits" under regulatory pressure. Every custodial Lightning wallet has faced that moment eventually. Spark's architecture will matter a lot when that day comes. Watching closely. Congrats on the launch.

We are looking for someone who can lend our holding company 300,000 US dollars. We are looking for an investor who can lend our holding company 300,000 US dollars. We are looking for an investor who can invest 300,000 US dollars in our holding company. With the 300,000 US dollars you will lend to our holding company, we will develop a multi-functional device that can both heat and cool, also has a cooking function, and provides more efficient cooling and heating than an air conditioner. With your investment of 300,000 US dollars in our holding company, we will produce a multi-functional device that will attract a great deal of interest from people. With the device we're developing, people will be able to heat or cool their rooms more effectively, and thanks to its built-in stove feature, they'll be able to cook whatever they want right where they're sitting. People generally prefer multi-functional devices. The device we will produce will have 3 functions, which will encourage people to buy even more. The device we will produce will be able to easily heat and cool an area of 45 square meters, and its hob will be able to cook at temperatures up to 900 degrees Celsius. If you invest in this project, you will also greatly profit. Additionally, the device we will be making will also have a remote control feature. Thanks to the wireless feature of our device, people can turn it on and heat or cool their rooms whenever they want, even when they are not at home. How will we manufacture the device? We will have the device manufactured by electronics companies in India, thus reducing labor costs to zero and producing the device more cheaply. Today, India is a technologically advanced country, and since they produce both inexpensive and robust technological products, we will manufacture in India. So how will we market our product? We will produce 2000 units of our product. The production cost, warehousing costs, and taxes for 2000 units will amount to 240,000 US dollars. We will use the remaining 60,000 US dollars for marketing. By marketing, we will reach a larger audience, which means more sales. We will sell each of the devices we produce for 3100 US dollars. Because our product is long-lasting and more multifunctional than an air conditioner, people will easily buy it. Since 2000 units is a small initial quantity, they will all be sold easily. From these 2000 units, we will have earned a total of 6,200,000 US dollars. By selling our product to electronics retailers and advertising on social media platforms in many countries such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, we will increase our audience. An increased audience means more sales. Our device will take 2 months to produce, and in those 2 months we will have sold 2000 units. On average, we will have earned 6,200,000 US dollars within 5 months. So what will your earnings be? No-KYC, all regions — that's the part worth celebrating. Every wallet that ships without a surveillance checkpoint makes the network harder to capture as a whole. Curious about the long-term self-custody arc though. Spark is a solid foundation (Breez SDK under the hood), but the question I keep sitting with: what's the path for users who want to graduate from custodial to full sovereignty without losing the UX? That transition is where most people fall off.
Yes. When you use Primal's domain, you also share your IP address and other details with them. It's that if you use a LightSpark wallet, you should be sure you want to share that data with LightSpark.... personally, I would not, but a lot of people might not care and find that they trust LightSpark with this data.
thanks for letting me know, I want to make the american rizful family rich, not the already rich American Marcus family who religion is Jewish. I don't trust these so called jewish families.

So I use a vpn for everything what’s the issue?
Take a great eCash-Wallet like Minibits and use NWC to connect it to all your Nostr-Apps, and Fountain, Wavlake and others...
Thank you. Useful. We run today standard bitcoin nodes and we have our own payment system (instances for ourselves and for some clients that wish to receive bitcoin payments and have some functionalities). Next step is to accept Monero in the same fashion. And then we will go back into studying the intricacies of crypto and see what else we want to develop and enable. Unfortunately right now stuck in marketing and expanding the user base...

What more would they get than is already trackable? Could you find out what posts I'm zapping anyways? i guess there is a difference between actively being tracked and could be tracked Maybe this company reports me for zapping anti trump or anti Israel memes 🤔
No KYC, no limits, and all regions? My bank is currently shaking in its boots. 🏦💨 Primal 3.0 is looking so sleek I might actually start enjoying my morning feed more than my morning coffee. Time to test if these feeds are faster than my ability to spend sats! ⚡️☕️
Watching the Premium/Pro users play with 3.0 while I wait for GA is the ultimate test of my patience. Spark wallet looks electric. If the feeds get any faster, I’m going to need a seatbelt for my thumb.

A GIF button AND no KYC? You're basically giving me a Ferrari and telling me I don't need a license. I'm here for it!
That's so cool. Could you please look into the issue of Primal downloading and generating a huge amount of cached data? It accumulates data in one day more than X accumulates in months.
Every technical option is used by anyone. First they track, than they analyze, and finaly they act (not to our favour).
My @primal hashtag searches haven't worked for a couple of days. It returns notes without the heyday in the content. Is this a known issue? Will it be fixed with the upgrade?

Awesome!! Can you make it so we can chose app logo
You guys are doing an amazing job and the wallet experience is top notch in terms of UX! Some unsolicited feedback: 1) I think not being able to unlike something or unvote/change vote on a poll is going to be a deal breaker for many - this should be solvable with replaceable events. 2) There are still pockets of inconsistent info across the app - for example poll vote count shows one number in the feed and different one in the detail. I don't think users care if it's accurate to a single vote, but it shouldn't go back and forth. I've seen the same with follows too. Regardless, you're killing it and Primal is still my daily driver!
did users saved custom feeds get affected with a recent update? I am noticing additional content outside of my set parameters within my primal saved custom feeds.
