I've been saying this for years. Saylor, Trump, Thiel, etc are not on our side. They do not want a Bitcoin revolution. They want a bitcoin backed dollar, with KYC and AML, they hate self custody, they hate privacy, they hate freedom. We must not let these people dictate Bitcoin policy or they'll turn it into a CBDC.
I am a firm believer in the old adage "it's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and prove it." That being said, Saylor needs to open a dang history book. Even the ones offering a whitewashed version of history would tell him that the people DID NOT willingly give their gold to the government. He probably also wants to avoid the serious pain that would come from a quick or sudden demonetization of the dollar. Most people just aren't ready, so it makes sense to take things slow. I don't know if the dollar can be the first fiat in history to end in an orderly fashion, but I hope it can. I do know that all fiat ends, and so does Saylor.
