Great job. If you read the bible, it has 66 books (more if you read the catholic one) 🤣, the book of Titus is like 1 page 😇

I can manage about a book per month, but that's actually reading it
It's practice. I read at least three a week, most of them are fiction. Non fiction takes a little bit more.
Hi Jack, is this a specific app that tracks the books like this or custom put together showing which books you have read! I am reading two books a month and think this is a. Great idea!

Are you actually reading them or just listening to them?

Just read this again. Now I feel like going on an adventure... image
Started the same thing few months ago - used to read lots and past few years online reading perhaps reduced my ability to focus. What app do you recommend to track your reading? Last 3 reads - The Bitcoin age (really enjoyed, it’s very different than layered money and revisits Bitcoin from first principles its cypherpunk origins) The internet of money (Bitcoin classic for some reason I had not read- mostly aged superbly with some early and incredibly spot on predictions) Nexus (some really interesting ideas there about stories, information networks and how AI might become a central part of that
Book reading clubs could be an interesting thing to build on Nostr. Just like playlists, reading lists would be great for users to own and use in different apps.

Wow. Good list. It’s all non-fiction. Ironically, same for me but for different reasons. That still says a lot. I remember you sharing fictional books like Ishmael & Snowfall all the time. Having said that, challenge accepted!! I will fill that *fiction* void. And, my book will find you on its own somehow.☀️🌬️📚✨💋🦁🫂❤️‍🔥
If you have other obligations and limited time a book per week goal creates a selection standard for shorter books over higher quality books. Rationality from AI to Zombies is a 50 hour audiobook. I'm half way through it and I really wish I hadn't put it off so long. I used to do book count based goals. For that reason I abandoned that and decided to focus on monsters I had been putting off.
My book queue is about 3 feet tall right now 😬 Currently reading Surviving the Economic Collapse (based on first hand experience from an Argentinian)

Reading is a superpower!
Aren't these those little books you used to get in the shitter or holiday home bedside table in the 90s?

That’s the lady killer list my friend. Lol When my gf asks me what I’m reading, I now just tell her “incredibly boring shit” to avoid the eyes glazed over polite smile she used to give me. And she’s good with it and life is good 😊

I see you read Alex Karp’s new book about The West. I kept thinking about Jason Lowery’s power projection bitcoin thesis while reading it. Do you think bitcoin has a role there for nation state defense?
Read 'Spot the Dog' a deep, philosophical work. Spot’s search for hidden objects can be seen as an exploration of how meaning is constructed and communicated. Highly recommended.
I loved The Lessons of History. it was an insightful distillation of societies that broke things down into fundamental ideas. Good luck with the reading goal!

I wish I had the time and non-ADHD attention span to do this. If it weren't for audiobooks while working I've never get anything read. Best of luck with your goal.

Nothing like having personal reading goals. After I’ve sorted out importing reading lists from Goodreads, will move on to creating challenges events. One of my the main reasons I am building the Open Librarian client is to set personal goals and track my reading progress.
obligatory reminder that for some people reading is more about quality than quantity. 😝 Like … someone could spend a month thinking about one page in one book … or read one book and then think about it over the next few months … seeing charts like this gives me stress

Genuinely curious here. Wanted to ask yesterday, but a bit shy. Have you found a difference in how you process the information with reading vs listening?
An incident has emerged where AI agents are being used to create an unlimited number of copy accounts from a friend’s account, tricking users into clicking scam links. Currently, platforms prioritize engagement and ad revenue, so as long as posts are being viewed, they benefit. Since AI can generate content at a much higher rate than humans, AI-generated posts are likely to outnumber human-generated ones, eventually leading to algorithms being manipulated on a large scale. It may not be long before we see the emergence of iris recognition-based authentication or human-only social media platforms. What do you think?

I wanted to introduce books which I've read because they accused me to rob their contents. Actually some people wrote same things. So I don't know what's the robbed contents.
