I planted spinach and green onions together. This combination is called companion planting. Their root depths are different, so they don’t compete with each other for nutrients. 


With hydroponics, the stem is green.





Wara is rice straw made after harvesting rice. Farmers use rice straw to cover the ground to keep it warm and moist.
This picture shows a raised bed for garlic. In the cold winter, the wara works like a blanket.
This is to prevent wind like as wall.
In summer, rice straw is used to prevent the soil from drying out and to suppress weeds.
