GM nostr. This morning marks the beginning of the Maori New Year down here in New Zealand. Its where the Pleiades (Matariki) star cluster becomes visible on the eastern horizon early in the morning. We were down on the beach at 5am this morning with a large telescope for the whole communities to celebrate in the dark. Now time for some warm coffee and to enjoy the Matariki public holiday.
