You think I have smoke alarms?
In Canada you go to jail if you don't have them true story
...Or love your Blackstone.
Mainland Canada sounds awful π
It taught me that medium-low is the new medium
What smoke alarms?
In Canada it seem you go to jail for just about anything so that's not surprising to me
Smoke alarms where you can remove the battery ftw
That said, cook your steak in ghee or tallow, rather than butter, and it'll reduce smoke a bit.
Wen smoke alarm with a 30-minute snooze button?
Why would you cook inside
Mine doesn't go off when I cook. Use butter, or an oil with a higher smoke point; like avocado oil.
Next time I'll try stainless steel on my BBQ stove.
Part of the reason Iβm a grill maxi π
I took em all down πͺπ―ππ
I use avacado oil and it smokes my house all the way up, the steak smokes, not the oil
for steak you gotta get the cast iron NUCLEAR hot though
I use the burner on the grill. Pro tip.
Cries in Canadian
That's the neat part, you just remove the batteries.
No rangehood?
It's shit I must upgrade it
Haha. Iβm in Chicago. Plenty of frigid weather steaks have been made on that thing.
Do you tho
In a world where sous vide exists, no one has valid opinions on cooking anymore. Just sous vide it.
Sous vide is fine for like vegetables and chicken but gtfoh with a sous vide steak.
dude, sous vide ribeye is fucking nasty
ππ€£
Today's prey are steak divas π₯©
Fil says that's how he knows the food is done when mil cooks π.
Grill outside
Turned them all off lmao
That and the hazy blue kitchen. I try to reverse sear 'm on the egg as much as possible.
Also i really regret getting an extractor hood with a plasma filter. That thing does nothing. There is literally grease on the air exit where the air was supposed to go through the plasma filter to get annihilated into CO2 and water vapor.
Also if you're getting a new stove or induction plate, get one with the extractor in it instead of a separate unit above it.
Itβs called a steak alarm.
whoever "renovated" our kitchen before we bought our house decided to replace the gas stove with an electric, and eleminate the hood above the stove and put a microwave in its place.
he probably couldn't cook a steak to save his life
@utxo the webmaster π§βπ» you started some shit with this post
I cook outside exclusively
5/10 to get my cast iron searing hot, 6/10 to destroy the pans seasoning. π€£
you keep it oiled the whole time, obviously. as long as you scrape the shit out of at after you're done searing it actually proves the seasoning
5/10 takes it close to 700F. Tell me an oil I can use at 6/10 and I'll give it a shot!
Completely. Had the Fire Dept at our complex bcuz of my wood pellet smoker. Smoker had to go. Still raw about it.
Hahaha indeed. That is why I turn them off when steak is searing.
