LLM’s are useful in some disciplines and interesting tech but they won’t really create any extreme changes in human societies - good or bad. They can’t fix your roof or make you dinner but they can be helpful and amplify productivity in certain areas.

It takes about $50,000 to live at a reasonable standard for a year in most places in the U.S. Compound that $50k by 10% annually and in 20 years it’ll cost ≈$336,376.00 to live at the same standard in America. Normal people hear this and think it’s a ridiculous fantasy. But travel the world and you already see 100,000 peso bills worth less than a $100 usd. It is inevitable imo and I think 10% compound inflation in the U.S. is a conservative estimate going forward. Serious questions: does anyone have an evidence based idea on how Satoshi generated entropy / keys? Is it known if he used a passphrase? He didn’t use a hardware signer. It seems likely he used a computer that had been online or continued to be connected to the internet to generate randomness. The offline only private key mantra feels like it’s potentially a psyop. It’s impossible for regular people to know exactly what components purpose-built hardware signers use. I’m scared of them.

Bic lighters are an s-tier product. They work flawlessly, are extremely durable and last a long time. I wash and dry them all the time and they work perfectly after that considerable trauma. The company knows the lighter is perfect and never changes their product which is so underrated. Really wish more companies would behave like that. Cars and software come to mind. Coffee tree bonsai going on 5 years. Solid trunk and decent bark. I snapped the top off maybe 6 months ago and have three good tops going. The main top topped itself and now has 4 branches which was an interesting and welcome development. Going to move the trunk to the other side of the container soon so the main body of the tree is centered in the container. Will start wire-training the tops once they’re bigger. All my years growing weed helped me understand the language of plant. Bonsai is the most fun plant hobby I’ve found post cannabis.
