Starting to think with all the Digital ID walls closing in, it may not be a bad time to explore the methods of setting up an open wifi hotspot that routes all traffic out through tor (to of course avoid being liable for what randos are doing on your free wifi). Gemini tells me this wouldn't be too hard to do with openwrt (and suggests it as a guest network, which makes sense for segmentation). What about @Start9 's new router -- any way to make this a few clicks away for folks to deploy this sort of set up before they bring the digital ID walls down to the level of ISP? Doesn't seem like it'd be too complicated; just a bit of iptables and a couple packages. Which, in the world of AI, is probably 10 minutes away if you've already got a working openWRT router.

@jack at the farmer's market and we got Square terminals here not auto enrolled. They gonna have to go through those hoops or is there a plan to auto enroll the smaller hand terminals? They're excited but it's real friction for busy merchants...

Anyone else have friends you text regularly who use iOS and then just one day disappear? I'm at like 3 people, and was wondering wtf I was doing to get people to ghost me. Though once I realized the number was getting up there I did finally ask and yea, shit's just not showing up. Feels like a black mirror episode. Shadowbanning, but like, with people you actually know. Just finally made contact after 9 months (stopped even reaching out after 5 because at some point it's just weird). SMS is weird, because we assume it just works, and the amount of times it just doesn't is alarming.
