Hi, I am among the unfortunate victims of the FTX scam, a situation that has resulted in the loss of my entire savings, totaling around $20,000. The distressing aspect of this ordeal is not just the financial loss but the subsequent actions taken by SBF and Sullivan & Cromwell, the involved debtors. Following the success of their global heist, it appears that, rather than working towards justice for the affected customers, they are prioritizing their own interests, demonstrating a complete disregard for the well-being of those who have suffered. To witness such blatant exploitation of innocent people for personal gain is not only disheartening but also raises concerns about the moral and ethical compass of those involved. Their actions can only be described as mentally and spiritually sick, going beyond mere financial misconduct. The significance of this situation cannot be overstated for me, as the funds lost were an integral part of my financial stability. I am reaching out to you with the hope that you might consider extending a helping hand during this challenging time. Any assistance however small that you could provide to navigate through the complexities of this situation would be immensely appreciated. I believe in the power of collective compassion and the willingness of individuals to make a difference in the lives of those facing adversity. I understand that you may have your own commitments and limitations, but even the smallest gesture can have a meaningful impact. Thank you for taking the time to read my plea, and I sincerely hope that you may find it in your heart to offer assistance during this trying period. Your kindness will not be forgotten, and I am immensely grateful for any support you can provide. Please save me. Anything technology the ban is something you definitely have to check out. It must work as advertised.
Sorry to hear if your story is true... but I'm skeptical of internet beggars... Create some value and I will zap you, otherwise good luck 🙏🏼
🤔 I never tried it, just checked the login page (which have displayed correctly). That said, with TOR sometimes you have to switch the routing a few times to get to an exit point that isn't banned on the sites you want to visit. Will try that with protonmail. BTW is there a tor address for protonmail? That would be something I'd expect them to have.
Great! It still doesn't work in default tor browser settings for me. Cookies, sessionstorage and localstorage are needed for it to work. Perhaps the tor mode in brave browser is the easy way, dunno I don't have brave on my computer to try it rn.
They don't really care about the bomb threats. I imagine they care about not being able to spy on their citizens.
Indian here 🙋 Banning platforms they perceive as cybercrime enablers or national security threats is often the preferred route by law and order agencies here. Nostr will face the same kind of scrutiny in the coming years. We can't be complacent here. Liberty is a constitutional value but it isn't yet a societal value. We'll get there.
But a singlular paid relay would sort of defeat the purpose and it wouldn't be decentralized, so might as well stick with proton, tuta, etc lol
#india has decided to ban proton mail. keep fighting the good fight for privacy rights. from what i understand the service is still accessible over #tor. note: if it still doesn't work, try switching the routing until you get an exit node that hasn't been banned. use orbot on mobile + tor browser on mobile and desktop. i also recommend using an always-on quality vpn like #mullvad. you can find both apps in app stores, but i highly recommend getting the mobile apk versions here: and install them and keep them updated with #obtanium here: more info and proton's tor onion site here: https://protonmailrmez3lotccipshtkleegetolb73fuirgj7r4o4vfu7ozyd.onion/ #cybersecgirl #privacytechpro #protonmail #tor View quoted note →
while the ban has not yet been enforced and proton mail is in talks with the Indian authorities, I would like to say: censorship leads to censorship resistance

And why I wouldn’t want to visit that poop haven if my life depended on it. Come to India - shit in the water, in the street, in your friends mouth. It’s all the same. Then have fun with rape gangs. But email bad. Nah.

Respectfully disagree. At least I would not be eager to use the early versions. I don’t think privacy is strong enough and infrastructure is arguably not robust.
They confirmed to Reuters that the time of sending the letter from the server does not correspond to the claims of the Belarusian security services. It is absolutely coincidental that they sponsor CIA employees like Bellingcat.
What does that even mean? Email is a separate protocol suit, you can't just squeeze it into nostr somehow. Now, if you just mean longform direct messages, which is what Emails essentially are, then we are in agreement here.
There are only small stories of cooperation with the authorities and leaked client information to the press, financial assistance to CIA employees, and support for the political will of the G7. There are no documents or investigations. In any case, email is not a tool to expect privacy and anonymity. At most, email is a trash can for spam and mailings.
CIA is the least of the threats for me 😅 Also all Proton services are very cheap, that's why I use their VPN to watch porn. I certainly wouldn't use Proton for anything else 😂
The Nostr mail would be so damn awesome if you could set a minimum sat threshold to recieve messages from people that are not in your contact list. An email contact list would need to be encrypted and not the same as the note1-follow list because privacy, and should contain other metadata like nip-05, nickname, realname, other private data, but ultimately the client can be where the contact list is unlocked and a payment threshold enforced. The only thing email has over nostr DM is the ability to create one-off distribution lists (To, Cc, Bcc), and attachments included in the message itself. Distribution lists can be done akin to private message groups, and encrypted files can be done the same way as images on nostr, but the existing note1 oriented app is not suitable for email and likely would need a separate client based on an email client (yes I still hate email, but normies expect this mess). Could email context sorting be solved differently than LDA sieves and IMAP folders? I'd like to know.

Their is a tor site for protonmail. Did you use that?
Well the excuse they provided me was they suspected the account was hacked. I think their software monitoring just screwed up and they were unwilling fess up to the actual reason. The primary reason for getting off of proton is because their support interface is to use email. Anyway their support sucks big time. Took over a week to get the account operational again.
I looked into Proton Mail and liked it but was not convinced of the benefit of using it when emailing individuals or companies using gmail, yahoo, etc.
