#india has decided to ban proton mail. keep fighting the good fight for privacy rights. from what i understand the service is still accessible over #tor. note: if it still doesn't work, try switching the routing until you get an exit node that hasn't been banned. use orbot on mobile + tor browser on mobile and desktop. i also recommend using an always-on quality vpn like #mullvad. you can find both apps in app stores, but i highly recommend getting the mobile apk versions here: and install them and keep them updated with #obtanium here: more info and proton's tor onion site here: https://protonmailrmez3lotccipshtkleegetolb73fuirgj7r4o4vfu7ozyd.onion/ #cybersecgirl #privacytechpro #protonmail #tor View quoted note →

cool. do you mean the eu grant that's distributed nearly €80 billion across Europe to encourage scientific research and technological innovation? it allows them to grow their tech without taking on debt and it doesn't give the eu any shares or voting control. accepting gov grants is pretty smart afaic.

That's tough 👀 what's your opinion on Tuta @Ava?
until i can run my own mailserver on my homeserver all the email solutions are suspicious to me
"The aim of this law, which was approved by 65% of the population, was to use new communications technologies to combat terrorism. In particular, it makes it possible to connect to the cables and fibres of the various operators, and thus to decrypt exchanges made on the Internet." Can encryption really be broken this way? By the Swiss government (or any govt) connecting to the cables and fibers of the various operators? If so, how could this type of attack even be defended against? @proton mail, @tuta, any thoughts on this? #proton #tuta #protonmail #tutanota
With centralized email providers there's always possibility for secret agendas. The fact their code is there for everyone to review it and the mindset of founders give me hipe they are legit. Their blogging how to keep yourself private are not something 14 eyes would promote don't you think 🤔 I'm not an expert about Getman laws but they have robust digital rights in place for individuals and I'm not sure what Swiss have 🤷 The claims of that person are questionable and doesn't mean it's true. Nobody knows for sure. We can speculate about a lot of things and it will only be a waste of time. Why not self hosting? Simply because I already have a ton shit to do and centralized services are there to save my time. Also my lack of knowledge how to set up super secured self hosted email is minimal. Even if they are a part of 14 eyes and are a honeypot, they are not looking for small fishes but for big whales and organized crimes. What they have on me? Absolutely othing and I bet their "allegedly" secret algos blocked me for being such a boring individual. I choose tuta mainly to avoid ad companies which is basically Google.
