Me as well, unless he was geniunely just talking about more tools for users to moderate content themselves. They already do “pre-moderation” behind the scenes so I am skeptical of that. Maybe if they start to take decentralization more seriously and the issues that crop up with that (follower counts, etc) then I would feel more confident. It just looks like its going down the wrong path.

I mean it's also not insignificant that the no 1 used (and useable) android client does have a mechanism (which it could at least be said can be used) for The Vibecheck. With the current pressures of (1) the current user base believing bluesky is supposed to be a “safe space” and (2) the overall mainstream attention on it - I don’t think they will get back on the right path. But, all we can do is wait and see. What I do know is that the current user base is in for a wake up call when they find out what an open protocol entails (if it ever does become open).

If notsr would only show the way by letting users choose who they want to moderate their content. If some nostr users are lazy, they can let others do the moderation for them. Join a mute group and let your fellow mute groups members or leaders contribute mutes?

They post almost nothing else. Most common words there are Ban Banlist Blocklist Nazi Fascists And how to prevent anyone they don’t like to prevent get on the platform. There are even people who demand to see who invited who. Total toxic community already.

You moderate your own content here. Will was discussing ways to mute topics the other day as well. Some clients also give you the ability to create lists. And eventually (I hope) there will be content specific relays. I think one option for what you seem to want would to be able to copy other users mute lists. But IMO no one should be able to mute accounts for you, that’s what leads to issues.

#nostr is a disjunction which equally contains all perspectives A || B || C and people build the intersections that are interesting or rewarding. Vibe control suggests that communication be a conjunction where only the intersection A&B&C can exist. That world is small.

For some reason humans seek *control* regard what we’re focused on. If we’re objective we’d all admit this is our greatest weakness. Control tends to stem from greedy, socialist, or communist mindsets, IMO. Even for those that disagree, I’d you peel back the onion far enough at the core you’ll find one of these as the likely foundation.

While there's plenty about AT Protocol/Bluesky I find un-ideal, in this case I believe Paul is referring to the aspect of the protocol that allows you to build your own algorithm to curate posts. For example, there's a 3rd party Bluesky web client called Skyline that allows you to curate your feed like so: I think it's great to allow users themselves to tune their feeds the way they want, and I'm sure is something we'll be seeing in nostr clients too.

I’m not totally sure, but I think Damus has a similar censorship system. I’ve noticed posts on Damus that are collapsed and say “this post is from a user you’ve blocked” or something even though I don’t block anyone.

I think the story goes like this... And I could be wrong lol. But basically if your are blocked on nostr by a handful of the people everyone sort of follows eg jack, will etc etc you are basically shadowbanned for the vast majority of users. That's my read on it anyway

Ai cette sale impression que nostr est pris pour être ( Faceb Insta, Snapchat, Tinder, Tik Tok, nudités et voyeurismes. etc . . ) qui ne pourrait pas être aidant pour ceux fragiles qui recherchent une voie dans la vie ils seront pris dans le piège de l'utilisation sans recul des outils (neurosciences ) Qui est dedans pour réellement de manière compatissante et non empathique à vieiller sur ces gens fragiles.
