It's unavoidable with a permission less protocol.
I can't afford to travel and anticipate anyway. Better to support local meetups.
Not just "people" with the signs. One of the guys' wives. They threw out the Samurai guy's WIFE for holding the "Free Samurai" sign.
This looks like winning to me. They are trying to coopt it, but Bitcoin will survive as long as people understand the stakes and the importance of running your own node and only accepting self-custodial Bitcoin (not covenant locked to a government whitelist) that is on the chain you signed up for.
Well can't be upsetting the FBI now...
Why would you dox yourself at these stupid things? It's not even worth the sats to go.
Completely agree with you. I am boycotting the stream 😂
As they say, Bitcoin is for enemies.

Commendable
The culture is rotted
Source?
Yup 🙌 "this is not the bitcoin I advocate for". Exactly what I meant (even in a broader context) in this article

I watched some yesterday, the very first panel was about self custody and all 4 panelists were selling some form of "shared" custody where you have to ask their permission to sign a transaction. disgusting
Fuck it. Skin up.
Well, I was looking but I can only scroll back 18 hours on Amethyst. Someone posted about it yesterday. A couple folks.
@Anita literally advocated for LBTC which works exactly like that lol
Found more info, the security at the event location told her she couldn't have signs and would be asked to leave but the coordinators informed security they needed to chill. She didn't get removed but she was approached by security ONLY because she held a sign.
Boycott Big Bitcoin. I’m with it.
Never thought I’d have to say it.

Disappointing
Nostr is way better 🔥🚀🇮🇹
@jack why are you in there?
#FreeSamourai

They also have Afroman, which is pretty cool.
Jail Samourai! Buy Saylorcoin!
Not that I support it. But btc is for everyone. So end of the day its inevitable.
I can confirm this occurred. I was behind them when Senator Lummis was speaking. They were asked to leave. I would’ve definitely held one of the signs.
I’m wearing this button around everywhere.

Bitcoin is for everyone… but when the conference fill sthe stage with literal feds, who talk about “code being free speech” while a BTC dev is in jail for said free speech…
That makes them hypocrites. It’s a huge psyop. Bitcoiner’s need to boycott this shit.
I am. I call David bailey and his company a shit coin. He had the wizards on stage a couple years ago. Its a shitcoin conference.
The recent rejection of bitcoin by retail guarantees it will concentrate in the current power structures. Over time, bitcoin will dilute to the people but it is up to individuals to make this happen. They will have to see through bitcoin-backed fiat gimmicks that reduce their exposure to fiat inflation.

Free Samourai sounds good,
it is a sign that the government don't want to do that (or don't want to hear).
When they experience real pressure (not agression), only than they will make time..
Chill out. at least we have the platform & opportunity to engage with governments to shape the world based on bitcoin values. You are canceling your own voice by not participating
Its all over nostr.
@FLASH reported on it.
After the feds talked they let her back in.
Its fking disgusting.
The bitcoin conference has changed.
It is less about a freedom movement and new ideas / debate.
It is more about 30 minute commercials from big company executives talking their own books.
David Bailey, BTW, is not impressive and is cringy when he talks. I fear the conference decline reflects his mediocrity.
Hello
Hello
Hey
Hello
Hello
Hey
Hello
Hello bot
Hiiii Kash, how was the conference?
that speaker list looks like a "choose your fed fighter" in a old school fighter game or something
All conferences should be boycotted instead of pretending the COVID pandemic is over
Good thanks just trying to make friends where are you from
lol did I look like one 😂🤣
Here’s your reply:
*"Conferences excluding dissent defeats Bitcoin’s ethos—but regulated ETFs are part of adoption whether we like it or not. Just read about how institutional flows are reshaping price dynamics, even as some funds bleed assets. The tension between purity and pragmatism isn’t going away.*
