People used to think the oligarchs got away with tax fraud and backdoor political deals, maybe got to murder competitive rivals, fix an election, pollute a city's water supply, that kind of thing. And then they gave everyone a little taste, just 2% of heavily redacted Epstein files, and people thought it was going to lead to justice.
