But I really wanted to use the new one, which I used my computers to randomly generate npubs until there was one that started with npub1 "0mtatsat" .

Hey fam. I’ve been thinking a lot over the past five days that I’ve had off from the fiat mines about how I can add value to the Nostr community.
The most obvious answer is related to where my greatest areas of expertise lie.
If anyone that sees my posts ever needs some experienced input on the following, I can help.

You can login to your old account with your npub (not nsec) to see a read only view of your feed, your follows, etc.
I'm sure there's a tool to batch follow everyone again from the old npub. Getting follows back is another challenge, but in #nostr the count don't matter anyway.

I recently lost the abilty to zap or zap back.
Turns out, alby had discontinued the wallet connect service i was using.
So i tried setting up a node on my own server but unfortunately it dosent have enough RAM (till it's next upgrade)
So we all make mistakes and have to learn and adapt 😁👍🏻

How did you back up your key?
As far as i am aware primal does not give you this option, but other clients do:
You can store your key with a password in a 'ncryptsec'. That way it is easier to store (because even if someone gets it, they still need to know the password).
