Definitely Storage (notes+Media) with great/super easy backup solution.
Feature voting. This is vague, but maybe compile the most common suggestions/requests and let users vote on when/if they are implemented.
Also a "stable" and "rolling" version.
no spam, no kyc bull like primal, more features that we already requested on GitHub, we need more ways to find people, I'm getting bored of nostr because there isn't ways to find new people,
we want voice rooms like nostr nests, except I don't want to go to that site to use it, I want to do straight from amethyst

5 USD isn't a lot to support the project, but I get the feeling projects don't want the money and keep everything for free so I don't see the point of paying

For amethyst, I want a option to hide the navigation bar, hide all icons, hide avatar, just pure text.

Nothing really. I am sick and tired of all the subscription bullshit. I know it's a nice steady stream of income but I don't want to pile up more than i really have to. I get that some things in life require this but let's try to not make everything a subscription, only to end up with canceled products you can no longer use or ever increasing subscription fees.
Take $3 and give $2 back in a fun zappy way that gets them zapping and walleting.

I would like to see relay profiles for my notes. So, when I post a note, I get asked to which set of relays would like to publish to. It would help to create more privat spaces, or smaller spaces. That is worth something. At least until every client oders this.

Better analytics/Creator Center like where/how your notes trend, most common reacts to your notes, better mutual tabbing, which keywords in your notes tend to perform better, etc.

I think a paid plan on Nostr would be hard right now, since everyone has subscription fatigue and there are free alternatives everywhere. As long as Nostr(.)build and primal exist for images thats another reason hurdle. If they start limiting or charging, image hosting becomes the big driver for a subscription honestly. But to answer, I would think it would have the following:
* NIP-05
* Vanity LNURL (fowarding)
* Access to Archival Relay (kind of like Wine)
* Local Relay for Backups
* Post Scheduling
* Search that works
* Some degree of spam filtering
* a truly brainless relay setup
My vision of a paid Nostr is something that handles everything for you.
I still think once the all donation money dries up and Nostr has to have a way to monetize to survive, something like a free version that takes a portion of your zaps and maybe introduces paid boosted posts (like with Minds) would work
Personally, I agree FOSS is the ideal model but the reality is that over the long run, it’s unsustainable unless at the very least hosting, & development costs are covered.
Either the community has to set up, & voluntarily donate, or Vitor has to eat the costs.
And I don’t about you but me personally I stopped my crypto website project because I couldn’t eat costs.
Even me as someone who is a FOSS maximalist realize that everything has to be turned into a business model in order to survive unfortunately.
If you’re not shilling something then you’re losing time, & money for others who really don’t care that much.
Making it into a business model at least levels the playing field, gives people a good service, & keeps the dev alive, or at least out of the red on the project.

Expand on this thought a bit. It seems like what you are saying is that the trick to speeding up the page load time is for the client to put everything in a SQL database and then just dynamically keep changing it, right?
What are the arguments for and against this?
What about the web sockets idea you're talking about? That would also speed things up? So I imagine it would not speed up the initial page load, right? It would only speed up the capture of new replies and posts, right?

Have been questioning what true value it has even though its "free".
Not being provocative, would love to hear what value people think they get from it (that cannot be found elsewhere & is not more enriching elsewhere.
Only real reason I have come up with is to help others but appreciate thats vague as fuck.
What do you get from it?
5-8 PRs per day. No delays in developing what users ask for since I just pass it to Claude and merge as soon as it works.
What takes me about a week to do, Claude can do in a day. So, it's roughly 5x faster than me.

Imo the right way to think about nostr clients might be that they are a kind of web browser.
Are there any web browsers you would pay a subscription for? Probably not.
I think the question should be, what businesses can be built on nostr (nostr which is, afterall, the worlds largest bitcoin economy), not what nostr clients can be a business.
If businesses are making money on nostr, they will be happy to support high quality clients that bring users to the network. Just like companies and foundations support web browsers.
Or, maybe a company in the bitcoin space would like to create a free nostr client as way to strengthen their brand, the way Microsoft or Google do with Edge/Chrome
That being said I think in the long run anything anyone can do to get more people on nostr and more zaps flowing will be rewarded by the bitcoin gods.
A client using SQL is just caching data locally to make its own experience faster. That doesn’t help anyone else. Other clients aren’t reading from that database. They still go straight to relays to fetch data. So SQL doesn’t speed up the network or Nostr itself, it just means that one client doesn’t have to refetch everything every time.
On the WebSocket side, relays can't return unlimited data. If a client asks for too much in a single request, the relay will simply cap the response and not send everything. So WebSocket requests are kinds limited and they just stream whatever the relay is willing to send. If you want more data, you have to break your requests into smaller chunks.
