"Where will they go? Who cares? Hopefully, they will disappear, that is, move from the ranks of the petted and cosseted bum class to the ranks of the productive members of society." The answer to this, was of course, they will go to downtown Bangor... image

The funny thing about Microsoft is how deaf they can be on basically every issue. Everyone screeched about bloat and unnecessary apps, so their answer to this was to take away solitaire and minesweeper. I don't have much faith in their latest "we heard your concerns" schtick.

In hindsight, zap polls were a colossal failure. Why were we forced to endure them for that long?

Ever since Elon pussied out of an MMA match with Zuck, I've stopped putting a lot of faith in these announcements. That said, this should happen. The children of American's ruling elite should be engaging in combat for everyone to see. image

I was a Biden tracking appreciator - the clones, their origins, their motives, their deficiencies, etc.. Like photocopies of photocopies, they got progressively worse over time, but they were interesting to study. I'm now questioning if Long Tweet Trump is a failed clone...

In management, there's something called the Peter Principle where employees are inevitably promoted to roles where they no longer are competent. I wonder if something like that exists with technology, where a technology will inevitably progress to a point where it sucks.

The fun thing about AI is that internet natives, those with fine-tuned skills to detect AI deepfakes, are rendered completely useless by Laura Loomer's face. Is it AI? Is it really that botched? Who knows!

Copper patina is beautiful and cherished, but SNES bromine discoloring is disgusting and off-putting. Seems like a marketing problem.

Even if the Quake II 64 levels are complete ass, it's pretty cool the remaster gives you them as an option.

Reactivated my Bluesky account (mostly out of morbid curiosity) and I was suprised at how many old accounts I followed from Twitter still active over there. I still maintain Bluesky's entire reason for existing is now a lie, but, my feeds on prefered socials are somewhat lacking.

Playing through Quake II right now, basically the first time with the franchise. When Quake III Arena came out, were people disappointed? I was a UT99 guy. If Valve dropped "Half-Life 3 Arena" after all this time, I'd be pissed.

New idea: every Teams call I have today, whenever I need to unmute, I have Sandstorm playing in the background - just to see how long I can go before someone asks what the fuck is my problem.

One of the most horrifying moments at work is when you ask the question, "so who is the expert on this stuff?", and then everyone in the room turns and looks at you. Now, it does drive personal growth, good things come from this, but for that one moment, horrifying.
