Imagine a low fee cryptocurrency with a circulating supply, reliable block times, & privacy. Man, if that currency ever existed it would be so cool, & I think a lot of people would use it. If only it existed, I think people would call it Monero, or something like that but of course that currency doesn’t exist 🤷‍♂️, so for now just HODL Bitcoin.

Bitcoin in theory should take 10 minutes to complete a transaction but in reality you pay $2 in fees which was considered High Sats V/B until a transaction spike happens that requires $20 in fees then you’re stuck in the Mempool for 2 days because the fee spike deprioritized you even though you were literally the next transaction to be processed a minute ago 🙃.

Nostr is better without Zaps. Not because zaps aren’t cool, or whatever but it removes the financial incentive to manipulate people’s behaviors. The only thing that should influence people’s behaviors is memetic viruses, not money.

All I see are saturated, and risky markets. And the market that is a clear winner is one usually found by a fortunate genius. Albeit even the winners had times of risk too.

I find it funny how all the X Bitcoiner Nostr influencers with 2,000 to 5,000+ followers would be like “Bitcoin to the moon, HODL, HODL” are all the ones who abandoned Nostr while I am one who criticizes Nostr, and Bitcoin frequently, and have been building a following despite this. The Bit-Normies need their X/Instagram grifty stimulation while me, someone who’s been frequently, and routinely shunned, misunderstood, and silenced gets to actually express myself. I was building a lite following on X, I had maybe 2,500 followers before getting banned for 3 years. But in those 3 years Nostr was my main tool to talk to the world, albeit a small corner of the world. That’s why I stay. Because it’s what protected me when I needed it the most. Others don’t have this problem yet.

Day by day we’re losing influencers, and content creators, relays, clients, and more. I’m not saying Nostr is dying but it’s most definitely struggling at the least. Very concerning.
