How are you witnessing that exactly?
1. The level of discourse has degraded considerably (if that can be believed)
2. Most replies appear to be bots
3. The “for you” feed is full of AI slop
4. Most of my “following” feed is people complaining that it has never been worse

Nostr clients should also surface more notes.
Imagine willingly spending your time there with all the bots and psyops. Literally poisoning your brain as the powers that be duke it out on the global propaganda platform. Volunteering yourself as a test bunny directly plugged into the psyop machine

Nostr is not immune, but there are web-of-trust solutions being built as we speak that will address this. I’d give it a few months

Notes and other stuff
I think there could be a couple of reasons why scrolling on nostr “ends” – 1. there’s not enough people (yet) to post enough notes and 2. you might not be following enough people
~10k DAU vs millions
And the bots are happy to oblige them
I'm mildly hesitant to follow too liberally as I want to avoid following bots and scammers.

Somebody I follow on X, because of an Isle of Wight connection, is currently cruising on the ship we will be joining on Sunday.
Because of this, I am engaging and reposting his tweets.
He has his sights set higher, however, as he tags Cunard on all his posts and does not respond to me, his only, highly positive, but low profile engagement 😂

That's what I do.
I follow a couple of interesting accounts that are still on X but block the rest of the feed. Here on Nostr I get more engagement despite having only 100 followers

Yes, that’s a new thing they did. They added a default “relevant” toggle to the “following” feed. The toggle to switch it to purely chronological is basically hidden

I will never extensively use relay feeds as that's too arbitrary. I might like I sometimes doom scroll YouTube shorts but I would hate it for the same reason.
Depends on the relay and what its curation is based on, assuming it is curated at all🤷♂️
