We need more easy places to spend bitcoin. I keep saying this because people ask me where they can spend it. I think it’s wrong to assume that everyone will be a hardcore hodler, people are actually curious where to spend. It’s a tough marketplace problem and we’re making progress, but more effort needed.

I found on one of the Bitcoin maps a burger place near me that allegedly accepted Bitcoin. I went there to buy my first burger with Bitcoin. The people who worked there did not know what I was talking about. Not only did they not accept Bitcoin payments, they did not know what Bitcoin was. We have a long way to go.
Once business owners see number go way up they’ll get into it. Just a waiting game
Having more places to spend makes it more liquid More liquidity makes it better money Totally agree with you 💯

I agree there's a marketplace problem. there are people selling products for Bitcoin and people willing to buy but it's hard for them to find each other. other than a few shopstr listings, no one knows that I make and sell handmade wool hats, socks and blankets.

ooo, nice to meet you. I'll add you to the Buy with Bitcoin follow pack!
That takes everyone orange pilling. Every store you go into. I do it every time. It takes 5 seconds to ask if they take bitcoin but make sure you have time after if they’re actually curious. I’m now at “oh shit, still no. Last time I asked it was at 20k, are you happy to carry on missing out?”

My husband occasionally looks into how to set up a paywall so when someone buys one of our books with sats, they are funnelled along to a place to download the book automatically. We're not coders, and are kind of limited in funds, so we're not quite there yet. I sure look forward to the day when it's more common!! I only generate sats myself, and my husband converts most of what he earns into bitcoin, so, this whole fiat thing is quite inconvenient!! 🤣
In 2014 I created a hardware project that was in high demand and I only accepted bitcoin as payment. I orange pilled hundreds of people without needing to tell them anything about bitcoin other than "you can't have this unless you send me bitcoin". People were angry, but they still did it, and they were forced to study bitcoin. That's the forcing function we need for deeper levels of pleb adoption.
Absolutely right. The point of #Bitcoin was never just to store value—it was to escape control. That means building and using parallel systems, even if it’s inconvenient at first.
The problem is the fiat people are the ones running the businesses. They can't afford to accept Bitcoin as they are barely profitable and Bitcoin is too the volatile. Stop worrying about the normies and just keep stacking bits. Eventually there will be a crossover point where fiat businesses crumble and Bitcoiners will be the ones starting the businesses. Then you will hire the normies, pay them in Bitcoin and accept Bitcoin as your business.
agree, but then bitcoiners themselves complain about bitcoin being held on corporate balance sheets....if we want it to be a widely accepted medium of exchange, then it has to be on the balance sheet.
FWIW…I sell fresh duck Eggs in northern Ohio (Sandusky area). $7/dozen. I accept Strike, Cash app, Bitcoin, or USD. Message me on NOSTR to set up pickup…
Oh, and I planted first-year raspberry plants in red Solo cups this afternoon. I will be listing them on FB Marketplace & on NOSTR tomorrow. They are planted in dirt and watered. I’m asking $2.00/plant. They do not produce in their first year; you have to wait until the second year. There are more than 75 plant cups available.

Would love to add you to BTCAccepted.org. What do you call your business and do you have a website?
I would love to be added to the site, but I don’t have a business (name), per se… I can give you my real name Joshua Farr, my NOSTR name (TraderJ), and my phone number if that info is helpful….

If you want, DM me that info. If you mind your number going on the site, that might be a good way for people to get ahold of you
You’re about 3 hours east of me. And about the same distance for you to Lake Satoshi. Have you been to Lake Satoshi meetup near Lansing, Michigan. Fantastic meetup. They have a Huge one in August. You might make some great connections there.
Thank you for letting me know! I just heard of one in Cleveland, Ohio area, and would like to visit there to make connections. I live between Toledo (western Ohio), and Cleveland (north-central Ohio)
I don't live near there... I have been on a couple of online sessions with a group on meetup.com. I don't remember what state the group was from...
Love it. I made a post related to merchants on Nostr a few weeks ago. Slightly different but pretty sure all of them accept sats. You might find some businesses worth adding to your site, especially in the comments under my note. I'll also shill my business. My wife and I run a small B2B design studio: vrtcl.studio
Strike app is better, they can send to lightning addresses without owning bitcoins

Btc burgers should be a winner, sounds like it...
The most important step would be to integrate lithining into many apps on playstore or applestore. E-commerce app or games or app of anything...
Agree on this. I've tried my best to only use digitial services that offer BTC as an option. It aint easy though. Generally, I've found that most of the services that DO offer it are a specific type of service (VPN, password manager, privacy centric type stuff). Then, of those, half of them use shitty processors like Coinbase Commerce which forces you to have an account. LOL - defeats the purpose. Anyhow, would love to see more people adopt it and would love to see more directories of services that accept it.
