Malicious compliance tech idea: Relay software where you can remove something from your relay while broadcasting that event to a million other known relays. So that if a relay runner ever gets a legal notice that they don't wanna deal with, they delete it but in doing so spread that note so far and wide that it's impossible to censor it, causing a Streisand effect.

What’s done is done, and I appreciate you. It is a difficult balance between privacy and transparency. It is in the public interest to know when developers are receiving censorship requests backed by legal threats. I have always viewed email, text messages, and other written communication as though they could eventually be subject to legal discovery. If your position is important enough that you are willing to put a legal threat in writing and sign your name to it, then you should also be prepared to publicly defend that position.

I was a bit hesitant on this matter. Simply because I firmly believe that whistleblowing comes with risks and responsibilities. To release a document without first reading and redacting where appropriate is not ideal. It increases risk for all involved. However, in your exchange with the requester, his veiled threats became quite obvious «It's not a threat. It's a letter of good faith legally required before taking further actions ». Censorship resistance is why I am here. Without truly decentralized and free communication the « revolution » is doomed. The absurdity of it is this… I would have not known about the allegations made against the requester had he not requested to censor content on a censorship resistant protocol.

I don’t agree with you on many things, and I personally wouldn’t dox someone for something like this, but, I respect that you’re unwilling to bend on this topic.

There are values that one is committed to defending and then there is human kindness and simple courtesy and humanity in the way one can handle upkeeping those values especially when those have not been crossed in any violent way. Being a a total asshole is just that. You could handle your stupid well funded censorship resistant app's customer support tickets with honor and respect to the people using it and in honor of your benefactors whose name is also associated with it. There is a way to say no with respect and then there is a way to doxx and humiliate others which you seem to take incredible amount of pleasure doing. Simple fucking human courtesy in how you engage with others. What you are displaying is that you are not to be trusted with what you have revealed about yourself on your stupid client. You have displayed consistent reactionary behavior and you could have just slept on the fucking letter first and had a grounded response that still honors your stance. I hope you don't have guns and rifles because you surely seem well too hot headed for that power near you. Go eat more LSD maybe. I care about censorship resistance immensely and its also the only reason I am here. That said there does need to be OPT iN moderation abilities like those on device spamfilters like nspam, shared blocklists, etc. Let the users choose what to block that way so we don't get spammed with things like cp telegram bots. But we don't get things censored we want to see. And then if people disagree on what is being blocked they can just switch to another blocklist or make their own. Or of course opt out entirely and face the bare experience. Its this kinda thing that will ultimately remove the need for relays to do it.
