noob Question: I went to damus.io and it asked for my pub key, entered it and my feed populated.. went to reply to a post and it asked for my priv key.. i know that is how i am technically 'signing' my message, just feels odd entering it like that, but that is the way right?
Yes. That is the way but I use Alby. It's a web extension that sort of does all kinds of neat Bitcoin stuff and functions as a LN wallet.
I also use it to hold my pubkey and privkey. It talks to every #nostr client I have used and will log you into these clients with your pubkey
Alby will also automagically sign a message in these clients with your privkey. It's at Alby if you want to look.

I’m missing a good chunk of data. But we went from around 15,000 unique pubkeys to 50k+ the last couple weeks. Maybe around 35k active pubkeys the past couple weeks.
Damus app has around 9k followers which all new users follow by default.
We went from around 100k events to 1,250,000k events. Not all are text events however.
Nothing exact. But some guidance.
58k users will be the inflection point. It has been foretold. #NostrDamus

You can use mastodon relays in nostr and there's more interesting stuff. Go to mostr.pub and ass their relays.
