working on an ascii vault animation transformation for cashu me restore flow.
too many private trackers still on accept on chain btc and random shitcoins for donations. they should accept lightning or cashu with auto melt to self custody in the background. i would love to work on this.
spent the last few days working on cashu me restore. we support automated mint backup over nostr. an nsec is derived from seed and encrypts your mint list then publish it to relays.
what that means for the user: when they enter their 12 words, they don't need to remember which mints they were using. we can fetch the mint list from the seed.
so much infighting in bitcoin lately (maybe it always was). sometimes it feels like the wu wei. i take comfort in that.
despite the vitriol i will never forget you guys 🫂.

polishing onboarding for cashu me. onboarding is special. it's the first chance you get to show the care you put into what you built.

my @primal wallet hasn't received a single zap since july 9th. i get zapped but the money never comes in. nothing but problems since the 'upgrade' to spark.
it used to be one of my favorites. now it's slow, bloated, and broken. i'm literally just losing money at this point. what a disaster. it makes me so sad to have lost such a reliable wallet.
launching my second app today: zeile.
it's another simple one. you pair with one person. send a note or a doodle, and it lands on their home screen via widget. 100% free. iphone only.
no accounts, no user ids. just a code generated at setup. one of you shares it, the other types it in, and you approve.
it's simple and there are others like it. but this one is free. nothing behind a paywall. plus i put a little extra care into the ui.
had a lot of fun building and testing it. check it out:

wrote about how we've been building at numo over the last few months.
we've been slinging hats behind counters, handing a pos to restaurants, putting devices in bartenders' hands, and watching what breaks. almost every change we've shipped came from these sessions.

Numo: Lessons From Standing Behind the Counter
For the last couple of months, we've been doing something we don't usually get to do: standing behind counters. Conferences, restaurants, actual me...
codex 5.6 sol is much better at identifying and laser targeting sources of jank, like split-second screen flickers between animation transition states and stuff like that.
bip110 is sedevacantism for bitcoiners.
you must respect the work. you should put in a lot of effort to show you respect the work. if you don’t take the time to do so why should other people take the time to use your product?
cleaning up recent transactions history on cashu me. old version on the left, new version on the right.

cashu tap to pay now supports jacobin conjecture counterexamples.
