Being removed from the Play Store shouldn't necessitate emptying the existing Android wallets, bc people can still sideload apps via F-Droid, obtanium, or direct apk download. This means that Phoenix users may be in legally grey territory using LSP's. Which is concerning.

Use non-custodial wallets like Mutiny Wallet or Blixt Wallet

Phoenix wallet is obeying in advance, teaching power what it can do.

True, maybe they were sent a message about compliance and they said "We don't need this. Bye!" I just don't want to keep going backwards. We will build and grow and continue making things better for the people, unselfishly
Isn't the ability to force close channels an essential part of making LN non-trusted. Well there goes that.

I have to imagine all LSPs will be getting pressured like this. Any routing node operator seems targetable too. (Not FUDing but if non-custodying is no longer a defense, lots of stuff gets redefined)

This should be an easy legal win, however. If Chevron gets struck down this is blatant executive legislation.
Refusing business with USA is a strong feedback. I wish so many companies did it that the citizens would revolt to dismantle the communism they let in.

Phoenix app spontaneously disappeared from my android phone (in Europe) hours before I read this news. Can app store pull apps from your phone? Re-installed. Luckily I had the seed or I would have been rugged?
Not sad, expected. These things will continue. The state does not want you to have any measure of freedom. They will continue pushing to destroy it. This is precisely the reason that things like Nostr, bitcoin, LN and any other number of decentralized tech exists. More people need to get de-Googled phones. Download apps from providers. Own their digital experience, not allow corporations to curate them. Awesome software will need to be created/hosted in a decentralized fashion. There is a way to push back and win. We have the tools, they will be deployed, the people will rise above the state.
