Why so we need our first name, last name, birthday, and other personal information just to activate the primal wallet. Lame!
We aren't fans of it either, but this is a legal requirement for offering a custodial wallet service. You can use your self-custodial wallet with Primal android and web apps via Nostr Wallet Connect.

I'd like to have personalized feeds based on my followings, like "One Per Follow" which I used a few months ago and can't find in the feed marketplace anymore.
For now, I'm compensating with custom searches saved as feeds, but it's annoying when I want to change some settings and have to recreate everything from scratch. It would be very useful to be able to edit saved searches.
Additionally, the web version has had an annoying bug for a long time when the light theme is set, when you go to certain sections of the settings, specifically "Notifications" and "Content Moderation", the checkboxes inside the squares in the various options are not displayed.

On a Android tablet, respect orientation when in full screen. Right now, it forces portrait.
Allow external wallets on iOS devices. Right now, my Android tablet allows alby and my iPhone forces the Primal. Being in Canada, this allows me to find my wallet on Android and I canโt zap on iOS
Would really like to see notification improvements. I donโt get all of the notifications on primal (replies, reactions) and itโs a big reason why I still use other clients alongside primal. Also having more reaction emojis. Donโt really need all of them but if someone posts about a family member dying, Iโd like to react with a ๐ซ instead of a โค๏ธ

I found that this screws up lots of functions in Primal, such as zapping. So if I want to zap, I have to go back into my phone settings and switch it back to the automatic timezone time. (It also makes it impossible to log in with nsec from the homescreen, so if anyone else has reported this issue, this is likely why)
It would be awesome if all the functionality still worked when the phone is on a custom time, so I don't have to switch back and forth

My review of Primal for Android has been updated (including the overall score), based on the improvements made in 2.2. The remaining things I would like to see are detailed there. Here's a summary:
- Better relay handling. Not every relay in my kind 10002 is both read and write, but Primal appears to make no distinction, and editing my relays in Primal sets all of them to both.
- Ability to write long-form. Users expect to be able to create the same content that the client displays. I can understand leaving this out of the mobile apps, but the web client should allow for creating long-form "reads."
- Remote signer support. Android signer is very nice to have, but with the onboarding flow of nstart.me being promoted, and the advent of FROSTR, as well as Amber's ability to do remote login for other devices, more clients need to add it. Both
@hodlbod and
@hzrd149 have implemented it well in Coracle and Nostrudel, for reference.
- NWC Wallets displayed in Primal's wallet tab. NWC has the ability to display balance and transaction details, when configured to do so. It would be great if NWC users could just use the Primal app as their wallet, rather than that tab being entirely useless unless you have a Primal wallet.
- DMs. Take them out or add NIP-17 support.
- Web-of-Trust or Pagerank (Vertex) based search for users. Not mentioned in the review, but all clients really need this so people aren't easily conned into following fake accounts or sending them zaps.
- The Media feed needs better filtering for sensitive content, and preferably a toggle in the settings for hiding or showing sensitive content throughout the client. Would be nice if it could be limited to media posted by your web-of-trust, too.
- Tablet optimized UI for the mobile apps. Looks ok in forced landscape mode, but would be better if landscape mode was available for tablets by default and the landscape UI looked similar to the web client.

Hey Ben, totally understand. We've recently upgraded our wallet logic. The only thing that may not work with your time changed phone is signing in via Android.
Since you're already signed in, try using the app with the time change and let me know if things don't work for you properly. It's possible in this new update that things are better.

As long as their wallet has the ability to purchase Bitcoin using fiat rails, there will be KYC involved, and I think that feature is helpful for those who are new to Bitcoin, so they can dip their toes in with a relatively low barrier to entry. If there is a group Primal is targeting with their app, it's the person who is not well versed in either Bitcoin or Nostr. It is not a client designed for power-users of either protocol.

Also, I have been under the impression that the KYC requirement was more related to having the ability to buy Bitcoin in small amounts with fiat directly through the wallet, rather than simply due to the wallet being custodial. There are some times where pages won't load when using a hardened Firefox-based browser from what I notice.
That might be a stability issue on the web end from what I'm aware of.
If I mute someone, it should mute all notifications related to them - especially follow notifications.

2. If you are on iOS, I would not be surprised to see the above option added soon, given the recent ruling against Apple.
3. Your beef is not with Primal when it comes to KYC laws for anything that touches fiat. Write your congressman.
The only option for Primal to remove KYC on their wallet would be to take away the ability to purchase sats and partner with a different wallet provider (Primal currently partners with Strike, a regulated money transmitter), which they think is an important feature for their target users, so not likely to happen.
I forgot, in advanced searches it would be useful to have the option to choose whether to show only notes or notes + replies

On primal for iPhone pressing the home button once should take you to the top of the feed (does it now). Pressing it twice should download and take you to the top of latest/trending 24 hrs/trending 48 hrs etc which ever tab itโs on.

Please do allow the option update the lud16 field for a user. Lacking of this makes a lot of other client users not able to zap these users well. Also few automated bots like

Dikaios1517, money is deeper than laws, and laws are what's forcing KYC. Since Bitcoin is freedom money, eventually, the laws that require KYC will be repealed, and then Primal, if it's still around, will be able to have a non-KYC Bitcoin/lightning wallet. It's only a matter of time.

But it's the laws we have to work toward repealing first, not going after Primal, and really Strike, for being required to comply with them to continue operating. Hence why I mentioned writing your congressman rather than asking Primal to remove KYC. Primal will gladly remove KYC once congress repeals KYC laws.

Maybe a relay issue, but sometimes I have to refresh like a mother and try several times in a row to post from the browser version. Takes a few minutes sometimes.

Cannot activate my primal wallet. Enter Name, email, DOB, Country then tap Next. 'Check Your Email' screen appears but email with code is never received. Yes, i checked Spam/Junk folders.
