ELON CAN SEND A TWEET FROM THE PRESIDENT'S ACCOUNT IF HE WANTS. CENTRALIZED SOCIAL MEDIA SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR OFFICIAL COMMS. POSTS SHOULD BE CRYPTOGRAPHICALLY SIGNED. THE NOSTR POST YOU ARE READING NOW WAS SIGNED BY MY PRIVATE KEY AND VERIFIED BY YOUR CLIENT.

No one man should have all that power
Part of me wishes that the powers up high would take your common sense advice But the larger part is glad that the elites are this clueless so that people finally wake up

Not your keys, not your post.
Wait, you’re telling me my old Twitter account posting anonymous random shit with less than 50 followers and influencing nothing had a better security than the account of the #SEC 🤣🤣🤣 You can’t make that shit up
ODELL HAS BETTER COMMS AND BETTER MONEY THAN THE FUCKING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. WE LIVE IN THE FUTURE, PLEBS.

They will miss #Nostr just like they missed #Bitcoin, the legacy system is too old, clunky and corrupted
Great point. Wars could theoretically be started with a tweet. This indeed is a massive national security threat.

Elon should have been sending Tesla stock price pump tweets from the SEC this whole time!
True. How might we convince the government to start using Nostr for communication? (while probably most of us Nostr users think that government is a criminal protection racket) Impossible, I guess. But I agree, they should.
Private keys can be compromised too and you lose your whole account. Not saying twitter is the way but Nostr isn't either. Announcements like that should be done with a press release with video and commentary from sec officials.
He should post a WWIII tweet just to make this point, then clarify (after the whole world went bananas) it was only a joke! But even that wouldn’t get people off centralized social media. The only thing that would work is if they got hacked personally and posted things that destroyed their own reputations. View quoted note →
Better hope no-one gets hold of your private key snd starts posting on Nostr fooling everyone into thinking it's you. Maybe social media, decentralized or not, isn't the place for a lot of official announcents.
The government is the biggest criminal and terrorist racket out there which uses taxation as a method of extortion

Message authenticity can't get verified unless signed and verifyable with public key.

BUT I CAN SEE WHO YOU SEND DM'S TO
This is such a perfect event to exemplify how what people believe to be the truth is really just what they want to be the truth. Nobody can prove one way or another whether it was the SEC’s fault or Twitter’s fault for the account getting compromised. Each side is unwilling to share the raw evidence of the mishap and, even if they did, half of the people would say it’s fabricated. As a result, we have to live in a world of un-truth. image
Only the weak minded pay attention to what they POTUS TwitX account says - regardless of who the POTUS is. Personally think the POTUS should have ZERO social media presence. The only place they should publish commentary from is Whitehouse.gov - no more or less.
Very true, my posts will always be signed with my key (nsec1wnppl0xqw2lysecymwmz3hgxuzk60dgyur6mqtgexln20qp4xv9sugxghg). That lets everyone know that I am the real owner of this account.

All media should be using cryptographically verifiable authentication, proof and publication.

I keep saying that governments should cryptographically sign their messages in order to be regarded valid by the citizens of their country. dunno how to manage that but it should be happening View quoted note →
